BUT GOOD MEN

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word. We are not left to wander around in the dark wondering about the things of God, the will of God. He has revealed them to us but we must study the Word. Consider, receive, believe, and act upon the following verses.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
People seem to love to quote verse nine above and are apparently oblivious or perhaps willingly ignorant that God did not leave us in the dark. His Spirit will reveal to us whatever we seek after, “we have the mind of Christ” so let’s use it! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was taken a year or so ago out the front door of our Condo in Maine. In case you’re wondering, I don’t miss the snow at all, not at all, and I surely don’t miss the cold! Now, lets turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 32:8-15 (TLB)
8 But good men will be generous to others and will be blessed of God for all they do.
9 Listen, you women who loll around in lazy ease; listen to me and I will tell you your reward:
10 In a short time—in just a little more than a year—suddenly you’ll care, O careless ones. For the crops of fruit will fail; the harvest will not take place.
11 Tremble, O women of ease; throw off your unconcern. Strip off your pretty clothes—wear sackcloth for your grief.
12 Beat your breasts in sorrow for those bountiful farms of yours that will soon be gone, and for those fruitful vines of other years.
13 For your lands will thrive with thorns and briars; your joyous homes and happy cities will be gone.
14 Palaces and mansions will all be deserted, the crowded cities empty. Wild herds of donkeys and goats will graze upon the mountains where the watchtowers are,
15 until at last the Spirit is poured down on us from heaven. Then once again enormous crops will come.
There is none more generous than God, our Heavenly Father, He is generous to saint and sinner alike, it not we would all be destroyed from the earth. So, is it no surprise that each of us, especially those born again and filled with the Holy Spirit tend to be generous. The King James Version refers to those who are generous as “good men” and of course this includes women. In the Amplified Translation these generous ones are referred to as being noble, openhearted, liberal (with resources) and of course generous.
Isaiah 32:8 (AMP)
8 But the noble, openhearted, and liberal man devises noble things; and he stands for what is noble, openhearted, and generous.
As we have worked our way down through this chapter God has talked about the righteous, the reckless, the fool, and the scoundrel. If you are not already, I want to encourage each reader to switch from seeing this passage in the natural to the spiritual. Someone is not a scoundrel or a generous person by accident but both occur on purpose. These are things they purposed in their hearts, it was the abundant treasure of the heart but poured out in words and actions. A person who is genuinely generous (not feigning generosity for secondary gain which reveals they are really a scoundrel) is generous in their heart in all things.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
