PEOPLE WHO LOLL AROUND

Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word. We are not left to wander around in the dark wondering about the things of God, the will of God. He has revealed them to us but we must study the Word. Consider, receive, believe, and act upon the following verses.
1 Corinthians 2:9-10 (KJV)
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
1 Corinthians 2:16 (KJV)
16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
People seem to love to quote verse nine above and are apparently oblivious or perhaps willingly ignorant that God did not leave us in the dark. His Spirit will reveal to us whatever we seek after, “we have the mind of Christ” so let’s use it! Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture was taken a couple of years ago of Belgrade Stream near the Dam in Mount Vernon, Maine. In case you’re wondering, I don’t miss the snow at all, not at all, and I surely don’t miss the cold! Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 32:8-15 (TLB)
8 But good men will be generous to others and will be blessed of God for all they do.
9 Listen, you women who loll around in lazy ease; listen to me and I will tell you your reward:
10 In a short time—in just a little more than a year—suddenly you’ll care, O careless ones. For the crops of fruit will fail; the harvest will not take place.
11 Tremble, O women of ease; throw off your unconcern. Strip off your pretty clothes—wear sackcloth for your grief.
12 Beat your breasts in sorrow for those bountiful farms of yours that will soon be gone, and for those fruitful vines of other years.
13 For your lands will thrive with thorns and briars; your joyous homes and happy cities will be gone.
14 Palaces and mansions will all be deserted, the crowded cities empty. Wild herds of donkeys and goats will graze upon the mountains where the watchtowers are,
15 until at last the Spirit is poured down on us from heaven. Then once again enormous crops will come.
We left off yesterday with me reminding us all to not just look at the physical side but more importantly the spiritual side. Nothing exists in the physical realm that did not first exist in the spiritual. I hope you are already aware that God is not big on laziness, we were created to be productive but not right out straight so to speak, or overburdened. Let me remind us all of part of the Eden Mandate and what Jesus had to say about our business.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
We created, of like kind with God, to be productive, have meaningful work. Now, let’s bring balance with the Words of Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
I am sure we have all observed persons (hopefully we are not them) we are proud (sin) of how busy they are for the Lord getting their worth from works (sin). We are to be productive but we are not to toil and sweat (under the curse, the devil’s system) but easy and light. We accomplish all by faith, in love, with the words of our mouth. Verses nine through fourteen give us insight as to the outcome of the lazy person the one who lolls around. Other words for loll include being complacent, to lounge or sprawl about, flop, slump, recline, or lie back. None of which are positions of productivity.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
