CHRIST IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD FOR US
Friday – February 2, 2018

Welcome back to this terrific Bible Study taken from the wonderful Book of Hebrews. Let’s read our primary text and leap right back into our study.
Hebrews 9:22-25 (KJV)
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
25 Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others;
Hebrews 9:24 (twenty-four is the number of The Priesthood) tells us that Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One and His Anointing have not entered into an earthly tabernacle but the Heavenly Tabernacle itself. Christ our High Priest is now in the Most Holy Place of Heaven at the right hand of God (the Father) in the presence of the Blood which ratified the Covenant and now adjudicates same for all. The other wonderful news is that our spirit man even now sits with and in Him at the right hand of Majesty on high (Ephesians 2:6). That Blood once again gives us entrance into Heaven even now before our natural departure or the Rapture (catching away). As we move forward into verse twenty-five (number of the forgiveness of sin) we see that He (Christ) did not arrive at the Heavenly Tabernacle with someone else’s blood or the blood of animals but with His own Blood. The only Blood that provides for our redemption and the obtaining of an eternal inheritance. The priests of old had to enter every year with the blood of innocent unblemished animals but now a better sacrifice has entered Heaven itself and is now eternally in the presence of God for us. As we move forward in our study, let’s review the following Scripture.
Hebrews 9:26-28 (KJV)
26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
If Jesus, the Christ, was of the old priesthood He would have had to suffered every year from the foundation of the world but no He has appeared once and has put away sin. This brings us to verse twenty-seven perhaps one of the most abused verses in Scripture. It is generally taken out of its context and sometimes used in useless arguments about the rapture and death concerning those alive on the earth at the time of the catching away. I will shine light on this at another time. We are looking at this verse in the context of Christ being sacrificed at Calvary. Upon that Cross He was made sin for us and thus suffered the spiritual death that sin brings and the painful separation from the Father. Next, He gave up the ghost, died physically, and descended into Hell. This was our destiny but Jesus took that punishment, that experience for us. Jesus’ mind was intact and completely renewed to the Word of God particularly the Word that applied to Him in this circumstance. He cried out to the Father, spoke the Word of God concerning Himself, the Father heard Him and saw the innocent Blood of His Lamb shed for you and me (and Himself) and out of the grave He arose, a resurrected Savior. First, He went into the Bosom of Abraham and preached the gospel to the Old Testament saints, they were converted (saved) by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony and they were resurrected right along with Jesus. After Jesus died at Calvary there was a judgment, He was judged innocent and beyond that an exceedingly sufficient sacrifice for our sins and the restoration of all things.
This ninth chapter of Hebrews ends with the twenty-eighth verse representing divine completion (9) and eternal life (28) by faith. It is interesting that the seventh chapter also had twenty-eight verses with seven also meaning divine completion. The world might assign these thing to coincidence but I wonder what a statistician might conclude? The Christ (Messiah) took and suffered the sins of all. We are reminded that He is coming back for His Church, for those who are looking for Him. This time it is not to bring salvation to a lost world but fulfill all things.
Hebrews 9:28 (AMP)
28 Even so it is that Christ, having been offered to take upon Himself and bear as a burden the sins of many once and once for all, will appear a second time, not to carry any burden of sin nor to deal with sin, but to bring to full salvation those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.
Can we even start to imagine the wonder of this day? We will get our brand-new body, when all is done we will receive our rewards and losses due to obedience or the lack thereof to Him, we will get our mansion in Heaven, we will get our new assignments and we will reign and rule with Him forever. O what a day!!
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
