COUNSELLOR

Greetings dear and precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Welcome back to these teachings focused on the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word and make it clear. Dear ones we are for sure without excuse, not that anyone ever had an excuse for rejection and rebellion against God. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to extend our reach with the Truth. Thank you for sharing. If you didn’t share, please reconsider. The picture of Donna and me was taken Thanksgiving Day at Bob’s Steak and Chop House, a beautiful restaurant, here in San Antonio, Texas. Now, let’s turn our attention once again to our primary Bible Text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read our loud. Yes, out loud, you know why.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
A child was born, a son was given, and Gods’ governmental body in the earth was reformed. That child is Christ Jesus who was and is the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice. Being perfect He was without blemish, without sin, wholly acceptable to the Father. Remember the Law of Reciprocity? Let’s look at the definition of being reciprocal or reciprocity. Reciprocity is a process of exchanging things with other people in order to gain a mutual benefit, a giving or doing to the other the same thing. Why was a son given? Remember, God was able to find a man, Abram, later named Abraham with whom He was able to make a Blood Covenant. In the process of time God determined that Abraham was willing to give his son, and his son Isaac was willing to be given.
Genesis 22:10-12 (KJV)
10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
Now, God is obligated to give His Son and He did. When that Seed (Jesus) was sown He gave birth to the Church.
John 12:23-24 (KJV)
23 And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.
You and I dear ones are a part of that “much fruit”. Now, let’s take a look at the name given the Messiah of “Counsellor”. This is the Hebrew word yāʿaṣ as transliterated from Hebrew and translated to English as counsellor according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. This word means to advise, guide, give purpose, deliberate or resolve according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. Consider the following Scripture spoken by Jesus, the Son that was given.
John 16:13-14 (KJV)
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
Jesus is our counsellor through the agency of the Holy Spirit. Is there any better counsellor anywhere? Of course not! Now with the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, His Resurrection, and the coming of the Holy Spirit we all can have this counselor within us. Thank about it, this is God within. The One who is all places present, all powerful, and all knowing giving us counsel! Every other counselor knows in part, He knows all. Are we willing to yield ourselves to His thoughts, His Words, and His ways? Or are we still like a willful child who says “I can do it myself”?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Monday.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
