WONDERFUL

Greetings wonderful people of the Only Living God, the only people with access to Heaven. We greet those also who are not currently headed to Heaven but will enter the fold very soon. You really do not want to reject salvation. There is no place in between Heaven in Hell. Before salvation we were all headed to Hell, with the acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Lord we had a dramatic change of direction. Our destination of Hell was changed to Heaven. Much more happened of course but this is major. Know that we, and we alone, make this choice. God does not make one go to Hell and the Devil can’t make us go to Hell, we choose Hell by rejecting Jesus. Why are you choosing Hell? Jesse Duplantis has a sermon titled “What in Hell do you want?” Whatever the least attractive thing is you can think of, Hell is exponentially worse. Please make Jesus Lord and Savior today. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible expanding our reach with the Truth. The featured picture today was taken a couple of years ago on a farm where we enjoyed a sleigh ride. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 9:6-7 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Today I am picking up with verse six “his name” to discuss these wonderful things Jesus, the Messiah is to us all. As we look at these name of the Messiah in verse six let me point out that all are masculine in gender and singular in number. Jesus is the Word, the Word is a seed, when sown can reproduce but not alone. Nothing can reproduce alone. Every male needs a female and every female a male. The female is the one into which the seed is sown and fruit is born. The Seed (Jesus, the Word) was sown into us and we were not only changed (quickened to spiritual eternal life) but now as a part of the bride of Christ we have great reproductive, creative potential.
As we explore these names of the Messiah, let’s start with the name Wonderful. I think, I hope, we all can say that all of God including the Messiah, especially the Messiah for without Him we have a home in Hell, is wonderful. Wonderful beyond compare. The word translated to English as “Wonderful” is the transliterated Hebrew word peleʾ according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. This word peleʾ means a miracle, a marvelous thing, to be separate, and to be distinguished according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. If Jesus is anything He is a miracle, the virgin birth, and God laying aside what made Him God and coming as a man into the earth, wow, a miracle beyond comparison. But then the Cross, the Resurrection, and Jesus being fully restored as God once again. I don’t know to what we can even start to compare all of this. Let’s take a look at the first use of this word wonderful (peleʾ).
Exodus 15:10-12 (KJV)
10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.
11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 Thou stretchedst out thy right hand, the earth swallowed them.
We can see from first use of this word peleʾ the focus is on things which can be seen, wonders, miracles, mighty acts. So, might we conclude that this coming Messiah will do wonders? Yes, we can! Of course, we have the advantage of all knowing of this above plus myriads more in the remainder of Scripture. This includes the coming of the Messiah and His earthly Ministry and we have read the accounts of the wonders done at His hand. In our text would it be accurate it we put ‘wonder worker’ in place of Wonderful? He Himself is a wonder and what He has done and is doing everyday is wonderful.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
