AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH
Thursday – February 10, 2022, Adar I – 9
CUT OFF IN ONE DAY
Greeting precious brothers and sisters in the Kingdom and family of God the Father, and welcome back to this engaging and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. As we move forward, please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible to expand our reach with the Truth. The featured picture today is of Donna and me at the Saltgrass Steakhouse here in San Antonio, a couple of years ago.
Before we dive into our main teaching in the wonderful Bible Book of Isaiah, I want to again remind my readers (those that are serious and those who are not) of something the Lord spoke to me some months ago now. He said: “My people are reluctant to challenge their paradigms”. A paradigm is a way of thinking, a belief system. When was the last time that any of us challenged something that we believe, that we may have heard for years, and perhaps from people we love and or highly esteem? I am not talking about having a critical spirit but proving Scripture by Scripture. Rightly dividing Scripture is done by other Scripture not a doctrinal statement or perhaps other sincere statement. Listen to the Master.
John 8:16-18 (NAB)
16 And even if I should judge, my judgment is valid, because I am not alone, but it is I and the Father who sent me.
17 Even in your law it is written that the testimony of two men can be verified.
18 I testify on my behalf and so does the Father who sent me.”
Listen to what the Holy Spirit says about the folks at Berea through Apostle Dr. Luke.
Acts 17:10-11 (KJV)
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Bold added)
Now let’s turn our attention to the wonderful Book of Isaiah and continue reading out loud (if you are interested in building faith and pleasing God).
Isaiah 9:13-16 (KJV)
13 For the people turneth not unto him that smiteth them, neither do they seek the LORD of hosts.
14 Therefore the LORD will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail.
16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed.
As you will recall, the sin and rebellion of both the northern and southern kingdoms have been judged and a sentence is being declared. They are to be cut off in one day. There is still time for repentance but they do not, at least not at this time. Remember, God is talking to His people, today we would say the Church. They were in rebellion, turned aside to other words and other gods just as the Church today. He talks in verse fifteen about the prophet teaching lies. I don’t know if those prophets or those today knowingly speak falsely or in deception turn aside to other words and gods like many of the people. I saw report of one well know ministry leader that said the mutations in the Corona Virus is God’s way of showing us He is still in control. Wow! One could not concoct a more wrong statement without devilish help. This is a doctrine of demons, period.
Now, let’s turn our attention to verse sixteen. The lies originate with the Church, people of God, leadership. We see that not everyone will follow the lies and those who do not dear ones are of the “Rising Remnant”. We see a second witness to this Truth in the following passage in Ecclesiastes.
Ecclesiastes 10:5-7 (KJV)
5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:
6 Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
There is much Truth in the preceding passage but we see one of the points is that error comes from the top, the Five-Fold Ministry and others in leadership positions.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week as we move forward in this wonderful book.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, doubt it not, and speak over yourself and your family in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
