DEDICATED WITH BLOOD
Tuesday – January 30, 2018

Greetings and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study taken from the Book of Hebrews. God is so good to give us the Word so that we know who He is and who we are in Him. What a gift beyond words and payment. This Word of God not only educates us about Him, about us, but about the Kingdom of God and our responsibilities and benefits in this Kingdom. The featured picture is from Rose Publishing and depicts an innocent lamb being presented at the Bronze Altar for the covering (atonement) of its owners and owner’s families sin. God the Father sent a Lamb, His name is Jesus, the Christ, to redeem His family as well. The title of today’s teaching is “Dedicated With Blood” and today is the thirtieth. I did not plan this but recall that thirty is the number of the Blood of Christ. Now, let’s review our primary text from the Book of Hebrews and press on into these wonderful Truths.
Hebrews 9:16-22 (KJV)
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
We have entered by the New Blood Covenant, a Covenant ratified by Blood, the Blood of Christ. God Himself, the Word, had to become like other men because innocent Blood was required to confirm the New Covenant and to redeem lost mankind. Adam was a sinless man until the Day of Sin when he became a fallen man. The Anointing left (The Blessing), and he (mankind) entered a new family with the Serpent (Satan) becoming the new adopted (accepted or chosen) father and master. The curse and death of all kinds became mankind’s inheritance. Mankind desperately needed a Savior and God desperately wanted to restore His children to the family. This restoration would require Blood and it would need to be the Blood of a sinless man. God declared that life is in the Blood, our return to eternal life was dependent upon the shedding of blood and our blood would not do. So, the Word (Jesus) came and became that sinless man, and sacrifice that redeemed mankind for eternity. He ratified the New Blood Covenant with His Blood. Justice raised Him from the dead because of His own innocent blood (Blood of the Lamb) and the Word of His testimony (His mind [soul] was not corrupted).
Philippians 2:7-9 (AMP)
7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!
9 Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,
You may have noticed that I underlined the word ‘like’ in the statement that He (the Word) “become like other men”. At that time there were no men like Him, that is who were living souls, but He came that we could all be like Him. All men were fallen with a dead soul and no hope of restoration to being a living soul with a glorious uncorrupted physical body. The price paid by the Word (Jesus) at Calvary paid for the full restoration of mankind to the original intent of the Father but with the added feature (a new creation) of being in Christ Jesus a glorious safety net that Adam did not have. We are no longer subject to the law of sin and death meaning instant spiritual death with sin. We are subject to the law of sin and death in that unrepented sin opens the door to the curse, to the thief, who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy.
As I close for today I want us to focus for a moment on Hebrews 9:18, remembering that Hebrews is the ‘faith’ book (number 19), chapter nine representing divine completeness, and eighteen representing depravity and rebellion. By faith the Blood of Christ brought divine completeness to mankind paying the price of our depravity and rebellion. Of course, each of us appropriate this divine completeness into our individual lives wiping away our depravity and rebellion by faith in Christ.
Hebrews 9:18 (AMP)
18 So even the [old] first covenant (God’s will) was not inaugurated and ratified and put in force without the shedding of blood.
Notice in Hebrews 9:18 KJV we find the word ‘dedicated’ which means: to renew, inaugurate, consecrate, or dedicate according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. The writer of Hebrews is making the point that even the first covenant was brought into force or made active by the shedding of blood and therefore we conclude and know the same is true of the second. Notice in the definition of the word ‘dedicated’ is the word ‘renew’. The Old Covenant had to be renewed year to year however this Second Covenant was inaugurated and ratified with the Blood of Christ obtaining eternal redemption once for all (Hebrews 9:12). Wow, the number twelve revealing a restoration of God’s government in the earth, the Church of Jesus Christ!
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
