ETERNAL REDEMPTION BY THE BLOOD OF CHRIST
Monday – January 22, 2018

The shedding of the innocent blood of animals was a stopgap measure until Messiah, the Christ, could come and shed His Blood reconciling mankind back to Himself, being the remedy of the sin problem. Sin does not send men and women to Hell today excepting one and that is the rejection of Jesus as Lord and Savior. We commonly hear people tell the unsaved that they must confess their sins to be saved however that is not true. Their sins are already set aside, paid for by the most precious blood of the Christ. When each of us repent of our rejection of Jesus as Lord and Savior we are saved, rescued from the curse, darkness, the ravages of the Devil, and eternity in Hell. Now, let us review our primary text for this wonderful Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 9:11-14 (KJV)
11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Last week I spoke at length of the good things which have already come and the good things to come. As we considered this we came to understand, walk in the revelation that nearly all things are ours now in this time and will continue into eternity. We are awaiting that brand new uncorrupted immortal body like that of our Jesus and the final snuffing out of death otherwise by faith, in love, led of the Spirit all things are ours now in this time. Our text moves on to tell us that Jesus, our High Priest, is not serving in an earthly Tabernacle, a Tabernacle made with human hands but He is serving in a “more perfect tabernacle” made by God. The very same Tabernacle that God showed Moses on the Mount and was reflected in the Tabernacle, the Temple, and now in us.
As we continue our study down into verse twelve, first let us recall that twelve is the number of God’s perfect government. We could say by the Biblical Numerology of this verse that divine completeness, the return of God’s government is returning to the men of the earth by faith in Him. As we continue, we find that Jesus did not enter the Most Holy Place in Heaven with the blood of goats and calves but with His very own Blood. When He took His Blood to the Mercy Seat and sprinkled it round about just as the High Priests of old were commanded He “obtained eternal redemption for us”.
1 Peter 1:18-20 (KJV)
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
O the love of our God. Right here I want to repeat what I have said many times. The fall of man was not planned and therefore inevitable. The sacrifice of the Word (the One we call Jesus) was not the will of God, and not the original intent of God. However, man was made a freewill creation and should he fall (sin) God had a plan. Thank you, Father, thank you, Word (become Jesus), thank you, Holy Spirit for you wonderous plan for me, for us all.
As we proceed into the thirteenth verse we find really what we already know which is that the blood of these innocent animals was a stop-gap and not the final solution. These animal sacrifices prescribed from the Garden of Eden, and codified by Moses, sanctified the saints of old for one year. Their sins were not expunged, and they were not brought into intimate relationship with God as we are by the Blood of Jesus, but it provided a bridge to the final solution, the ratifying Blood of Jesus, the Christ. You will recall that the number thirteen is the number of depravity and rebellion. Depravity and rebellion on the Day of Sin in the Garden required these sacrifices. First the animal sacrifices were necessary and were sown in obedience and forgiveness received by faith. Now, in our time the sacrifice of the Christ has come which was necessary for eternal redemption. I for one have by faith received forgiveness for rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ, what about you? He is my Lord and Savior in all things.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
