Greetings dear ones in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcome back to this enabling Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Like the rest of Scripture, it is only enabling when we receive it, prove it, believe it, and implement it not doubting. Hearing and parroting back will not get it done; it is vain. Listen (you are reading out loud aren’t you) to two witnesses.
Matthew 6:7 (KJV)
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
1 Timothy 6:20-21 (KJV)
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much. The featured image today is to remind us to pray for the seven spheres of influence. Each sphere needs to come under the very strong influence of the righteous. If the Church, the body of Christ, would come together in the Truth and not these destructive factions, problem solved. In the following verse could we substitute “Church” for “Galatians”?
Galatians 3:1 (KJV)
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. You know why!
Isaiah 51:17-23 (TLB)
17 Wake up, wake up, Jerusalem! You have drunk enough from the cup of the fury of the Lord. You have drunk to the dregs the cup of terror and squeezed out the last drops.
18 Not one of her sons is left alive to help or tell her what to do.
19 These two things have been your lot: desolation and destruction. Yes, famine and the sword. And who is left to sympathize? Who is left to comfort you?
20 For your sons have fainted and lie in the streets, helpless as wild goats caught in a net. The Lord has poured out his fury and rebuke upon them.
21 But listen now to this, afflicted ones—full of troubles and in a stupor (but not from being drunk)—
22 this is what the Lord says, the Lord your God who cares for his people: “See, I take from your hands the terrible cup; you shall drink no more of my fury; it is gone at last.
23 But I will put that terrible cup into the hands of those who tormented you and trampled your souls to the dust and walked upon your backs.”
I left off last week speaking about verse nineteen where God defines what has happened to them which is famine and the sword. Is there any famine in our lives, any evidence of the sword. None of this is God, period. Look at how Jesus gave us a succinct yardstick.
John 10:10 (KJV)
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Stealing in our lives, killing in our lives, and destroying in our lives is never the will of God nor initiated by God. The person that pulls the trigger on these things is we ourselves. I know that is an inconvenient Truth but if we want to walk in Jesus’ victory we have to step to the plate and take responsibility for ourselves. That means our thought life, our words, our attitudes, and every action. If these do not align with the Word of God let’s quit it, we are well equipped in Christ Jesus. It was the sins of the children of Israel themselves that brought the Assyrians sweeping into their land killing untold numbers, carrying off the best and the brightest leaving the land desolate. What about your life, what about my life? Are we fainted and helpless in the face of the enemy?
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember, the Lord is good, never evil or bad, and He cannot lie.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
