Greetings dear ones in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcome back to this enabling Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Like the rest of Scripture, it is only enabling when we receive it, prove it, believe it, and implement it not doubting. Hearing and parroting back will not get it done; it is vain. Listen (you are reading out loud aren’t you) to two witnesses.
Matthew 6:7 (KJV)
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
1 Timothy 6:20-21 (KJV)
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much. The featured image today is provided by Marilyn Stevens of a beautiful duck (duck I think) either landing or taking flight. In any event a beautiful picture and thank you so much Marilyn.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. You know why!
Isaiah 51:17-23 (TLB)
17 Wake up, wake up, Jerusalem! You have drunk enough from the cup of the fury of the Lord. You have drunk to the dregs the cup of terror and squeezed out the last drops.
18 Not one of her sons is left alive to help or tell her what to do.
19 These two things have been your lot: desolation and destruction. Yes, famine and the sword. And who is left to sympathize? Who is left to comfort you?
20 For your sons have fainted and lie in the streets, helpless as wild goats caught in a net. The Lord has poured out his fury and rebuke upon them.
21 But listen now to this, afflicted ones—full of troubles and in a stupor (but not from being drunk)—
22 this is what the Lord says, the Lord your God who cares for his people: “See, I take from your hands the terrible cup; you shall drink no more of my fury; it is gone at last.
23 But I will put that terrible cup into the hands of those who tormented you and trampled your souls to the dust and walked upon your backs.”
Due to sin, turning to other words, to other gods, Israel has partaken of a kingdom God never intended (willed) them or us to taste. What about you and me, have we willfully partaken of the kingdom of darkness? Yes, since salvation! Is it the will of God that the body of Christ be impoverished, ravaged with sickness, and stuck in place by bondages of the enemy? How does that happen. It is always lack of faith and following after false words. Why didn’t the children of Israel enter into the Promised Land?
Hebrews 3:19 (KJV)
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
What about believing wrong words, following a false god?
Deuteronomy 28:14-15 (KJV)
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
We like the Israelites of our study are caught in the net of the devils’ deceptions and are suffering the judgments of God in our personal lives and the life of the nation. The Lord has rebuked us and still we do not repent. This is not the worlds’ fault no more than the Assyrians doing what they did to Israel was the fault of the Assyrians. It is the result of the actions of the Israelites, their sin. All unrepented sin will reap a judgment otherwise God would be unjust.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is always right and good. He will never tempt us to do evil nor will he bring evil into our lives.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
