FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK FIVE

Greetings dear saints of God and welcome back to the Prophets Chamber. Please take a moment and share this Bible teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of the Truth. This last Monday (1st of March) as I sat with the Lord thinking about what He might give me for today, the following phrase rose up in my spirit. “An Abraham is arising; indeed, many Abraham’s are arising.” Perhaps like you just now, I said, Ok, what does this mean? Very quickly He brought a few things to mind. First was the slaughter of the kings in the rescue of Lot and He coupled this with David and the episode at Ziglag. In both cases all was recovered. A question that comes to mind is this; was it necessary that anything be lost? Short answer is “no” but over the course of a few weeks we will unravel this.
The next morning, the Lord reminded me that in the process of time Abraham brought forth Isaac (child of promise) by faith, faith in God. However, prior to that a tryst with Hagar (bondwoman) brought forth an Ishmael (child of the flesh). The Seed, our Redeemer, came through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and so on down to Joseph and Mary. What happened on Mount Moriah in Genesis chapter twenty-two invoked the Law of Reciprocity and assured mankind the Messiah was on the way. Now, let’s break down these events and discover what the Lord is saying to us today.
As we think about Abraham, there is no one more central to the redemption story other than God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Abraham originated from Ur of the Chaldees and made his way first to Haran and then the Promised Land, Canaan. Let’s examine the following Scriptures to remind ourselves and perhaps gain new insights.
Genesis 11:31 (KJV)
31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram’s wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.
From this verse we might get the idea that Terah, Abram’s father, was the one who decided to move from Ur of the Chaldees, but that is not the case at all.
Genesis 12:1-3 (KJV)
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
God told Abram to leave Ur of the Chaldees, to leave behind his kindred, and separate from his father’s house. He left but took people with him he was specifically told not to take with him. Have any of us done this? Have any of us taken or tried to take people with us the Lord did not intend to be with us for He already knew they were not a part of His plan for us and would delay His plan for us. Abram’s Isaac was delayed twenty-five years. The command to bless and not curse the Jewish (Hebrew) people is found in the preceding passage as is the promise of the Messiah coming through this people and blessing (empowering) all families of the earth (for salvation). Well, you know the story, Abram’s father (Terah) dies, Abram and Lot travel into Canaan and then Egypt due to a famine. They leave Egypt rich, Abram due to the blessing, and Lot due to the Law of Association. Strife arose between the employees of Abram and Lot. Abram told Lot we cannot have strife so they were to separate and Lot was to choose whatever land he desired.
Genesis 13:10 (KJV)
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
Lot chooses what looked like the best land and choose to live among sinners.
Genesis 13:13 (KJV)
13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly.
As you may already know this choice by Lot is going to have severe and lasting consequences. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Saturday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
