THE GREATER THINGS – PART TWENTY-EIGHT

Greetings to our dear brothers and sisters who follow this Ministry and The Three Minute Word blog. God bless you all. We are grateful for the friends of this Ministry especially those who are partners with us. No Ministry, no business operates on best wishes and fresh air. Join with us by faith, in love, as led of the Holy Spirit to partner with us. All three (faith, love, leadership of the Holy Spirit) are essential for effective partnership. Now, please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible to expand our reach with the Truth. For several weeks (this is the twenty-eighth) I have been dealing with the works that Jesus did and commanded us to do as well, and the greater works which He also commanded that we do.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Dear ones we need to quit gathering in a building we erroneously call the Church for social club activities. Dear ones we need to be about the Father’s business! The Church is the Anointed body of believers in the earth. We don’t come to Church for some emotional high, hugging, or an exuberance of activity but to build up, encourage, and comfort one another. Those former things are not bad, they just should not be the focus but a side product. The nine (all nine) gifts of the Spirit are to be present in abundance and the Word is to be spoken with authority and Anointing assisting us in coming to maturity and being just like Him.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (KJV)
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
When the Church gathers, we should see, on a regular basis, the works Jesus did, not only there in the building but outside the building in which the Church meets. First of all, it is critical that all be led of the Spirit, moved with faith in God, and love (agape) as our motivation. Prayer failures are guaranteed when we follow the traditions of men and doctrines established by demons. Whatever we are doing whether it be in the building where we gather or outside, we must ask ourselves, what is the Bible model for this? It is vital that we have two or three witnesses to support all that we do in the name of Jesus (which is everything). Saying; “This is what brother or sister so and so taught, or this is what we have always done” does not count. Now, let’s move back to our Isaiah sixty-one text in the King James Version of the Bible.
Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Last Sunday I dealt with the phrase “the day of vengeance of our God”, today I will move into “to comfort all that mourn”. I have been giving this phrase some thought (good thing since I am the writer of this blog) and it seems that this mourning is something other than a reaction to a tragic event. It includes this, like when someone close to us dies, but it seems, that is not the whole story. Our God is a God of comfort and as His hands and feet in the earth we have a vital role to exercise.
2 Corinthians 1:2-4 (KJV)
2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
Notice that the purpose of the comforting is to help in our times of tribulation which is pressure. Many things bring pressure upon us, the devils want us to have pressure without end, so much so that we abandon our faith. This pressure or tribulation could include but is not limited to a personal relationship, our natural or spiritual family, finances, or an unexpected illness. The Word of God and our focus on God is always first! As the Scripture says we do not mourn as the world, for we are not without hope.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
