FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK SIXTY-THREE
CHRISTIANS AND TRAGEDY – PART FOUR

Greetings dear and precious children of God the Father and welcome back to “From the Prophets Chamber”. I am currently teaching a series concerning “Christians and Tragedy”. Please take a moment before moving ahead and share these teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry. You have a very important role in the proclaiming of the gospel, of spreading the good news. I believe the Lord has brought me to this subject because I have witnessed over and over the reactions of bewilderment in other Christians when tragedy, especially sudden tragedy, strikes a brother or sister in Christ. There are a multitude of false teachings on the topic but the Word of God provides answers. I remind you that bad comes from the enemy and good comes from God. God is not involved in any bad stuff due to some mysterious plan beyond our understanding working all things to our good. No, the devil is trying to kill you! How did he get the right to do that since he is low man on the totem pole? He got a judgment in the court of Heaven due to the place we gave him in our life and that judgment is be executed. Remember what Jesus told the disciples and us before the Cross?
John 14:30 (KJV)
30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
The devil (prince of this world) had no place in Jesus for there was no sin in Jesus. The devil did not kill Jesus, Jesus allowed Himself to be killed as the Lamb of God to blot out our sin forever.
John 10:17-18 (KJV)
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
No man, no part of the curse is to take our life either, whether it be suddenly or in slow motion (disease). Jesus said that what was true for Him is true for us as well.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Let’s consider a little more Scripture so that next time tragedy strikes that we are not bewildered and falling back on the false tickle the ear traditions and doctrines of demons.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 (KJV)
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Obedience brings nothing but the blessing. However, disobedience opens the door wide for the curses (none of which anyone would want).
Deuteronomy 28:14-15 (KJV)
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Studying and following the Word of God without exception is not optional, it is necessary to our life here and now, and here after. Not just our life here and now but other around about us, some dear to our lives. Think about Job, God did not torment him to prove a point to the devil, give me a break. Job got into fear, gave the devil a place, and the judgment was severe but because we know the character and nature of our God it was just. Let’s look one more place.
Psalm 91:1-2 (KJV)
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
When verses one and two are true in our lives than all else is ours including verses nine and ten below.
Psalm 91:9-10 (KJV)
9 Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
How much evil will befall us? Zero, nada, none!
Lord willing, I will return next Saturday with fresh nourishment.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
