FROM THE PROPHETS CHAMBER – WEEK TWENTY-NINE
ARE YOU A MICAIAH?

Greetings dear and precious partners and friends of this Ministry and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. God is so good dear ones, and He is nothing but good. If it isn’t good, it isn’t God. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible. A few weeks ago, as I was fellowshipping with the Lord the Prophet Micaiah was illuminated to me as a teaching for the Prophets Chamber. While this teaching perhaps has more meaning for those who operate in the prophetic realm it applies to all of us for, we all can prophesy and we all are to be hearing from God. When each of us know that we hear the voice of God (the Holy Spirit) we must stand firm on what we hear not what others are hearing or what we are told we should be hearing. We do not to prophesy what we are told to prophesy or what we know a person wants to hear but exactly what we hear of the Lord. What hear and are told of God to speak may or may not make sense and we may or may not understand it, but keep in mind that particular Word is not for us but another. Now, let’s turn our attention intently to our primary Bible text continuing to read aloud, yes, out loud. Remember faith comes by hearing, not by seeing, and faith is necessary to please God.
1 Kings 22:5-6 (KJV)
5 And Jehoshaphat said unto the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.
6 Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall I go against Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
At this time Syria was occupying land which belonged to Israel and Ahab the King of Israel wants to go to war and reclaim the land. So, he goes to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah to confederate with him against Syria. Jehoshaphat in Godly wisdom asks the King Asa to enquire of the Lord. King Asa gathers together four hundred prophets and they all say the same thing as we saw in the text above. Please note that it does not say that these prophets were false prophets but it seems they were true prophets of God. As we will see this is where discernment by each of us individually is vital as we listen to the word of the prophets. King Jehoshaphat apparently does not get a positive witness with the voice of these four hundred prophets, so, he asks for another prophet.
1 Kings 22:7-8 (KJV)
7 And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
An interesting note I found by one source was that the Prophet Micaiah was one of four disciples of Elijah. This would put him as a close colleague of Elisha and perhaps Jehoshaphat knew this. We can clearly see that King Asa does not like Micaiah, but remember Asa is a wicked king and his wife is Jezebel. The messenger that comes to get Micaiah tells him that he is to prophesy like the other four hundred. This is found in verse thirteen and thirteen is the number of rebellion and depravity. Initially he tells Asa and Jehoshaphat to go to war and they will be successful (verse 15). Hear King Asa’ response.
1 Kings 22:16 (KJV)
16 And the king said unto him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou tell me nothing but that which is true in the name of the LORD?
Even this wicked King Asa knew he was fibbing. Now, the Prophet of God, Micaiah gives the Word of the Lord.
1 Kings 22:17-18
17 And he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the hills, as sheep that have not a shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master: let them return every man to his house in peace.
18 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would prophesy no good concerning me, but evil?
King Asa didn’t like either prophecy. The four hundred has prophesied victory and Micaiah prophesied defeat. Prophets of God must guard against a lying spirit. Listen as the true Prophet of God, Micaiah, speaks on.
1 Kings 22:19-23 (KJV)
19 And he said, Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20 And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
21 And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
22 And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.
Lying spirits come to all of us, be on guard. Don’t be confused the Lord does not advocate lying, or lying spirits, but He allows them in the earth (these are demons) and they come to deceive which leads to stealing, killing, and destroying. These four hundred prophets put the king first and not God. This gave these demons entrance. God must be first, period, in every area of life.
1 Kings 22:34-35 (KJV)
34 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the harness: wherefore he said unto the driver of his chariot, Turn thine hand, and carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.
35 And the battle increased that day: and the king was stayed up in his chariot against the Syrians, and died at even: and the blood ran out of the wound into the midst of the chariot.
Asa, a wicked unrepentant king died that day as the Prophet Micaiah had prophesied. Do not be deterred when what you are hearing from the Lord varies from what others are saying the Lord is speaking. Perhaps they are more respected prophets perhaps it is four hundred to one as in this lesson. Look not at all to what others are saying or what others want to hear, look only to the Lord. Perhaps you are a Micaiah in our generation.
Lord willing, I will have another fresh Word from the Throne next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
