WHAT ABOUT ZERUBBABAL? (PART ONE)
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Saturday publication From the Prophets Chamber. I have been on a brief writing hiatus while Donna and I made the move to San Antonio, Texas. Everything has gone very well and we are excited about this new and fresh chapter in our lives. God has wonderful plans for us just as He does for each one of you as you follow hard after Him.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry with the Truth. God is so good and nothing but good dear ones. If what is in your life is not good, it is not God, pure and simple. God is not in the business of putting bad things in any part of our lives. There is one person and one person alone that is responsible for the bad things that gain entry into our lives and that is we ourselves. We open or close the door of our lives to God and the devil. What have we been choosing? This is not hard, look at the fruit of our lives.
Matthew 7:16-20 (KJV)
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Did you notice that Jesus mentions we will know the content of a person’s heart, be it evil or be it good, by the fruit produced twice? Producing fruit is a creative act. It is the bringing forth of something that did not exist in the natural tangible world previously. An example in the natural is an apple tree that is barren in the off season but in the right season brings forth abundance of apples. Those apples did not exist just a short while before but now due to the right environment fruit is brought forth. There is no such thing as luck of the draw, happenstance, or “just my cross to bear”. Everything is the product of our thoughts, words, and decisions made. We see two cars collide and we call this an accident as if there is no telling why it happened, we even have “no fault insurance”. The drivers of both cars did things, made decisions that led to that incident.
Now, let’s shift gears and focus on Zerubbabel. Some may be thinking; “who in the world is Zerubbabel”? Glad you asked. Frequently in my prayer time when I am thanking the Lord for Favor, His Grace, I am looking at the following verse.
Zechariah 4:7 (KJV)
7 Who art thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.
Let’s look at this verse in a couple of other Bible translations.
Zechariah 4:6 (NLT)
6 Then he said to me, “This is what the LORD says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. Nothing, not even a mighty mountain, will stand in Zerubbabel’s way; it will become a level plain before him! And when Zerubbabel sets the final stone of the Temple in place, the people will shout: ‘May God bless it! May God bless it!’”
Zechariah 4:7 (AMP)
7 For who are you, O great mountain [of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of the exiles from Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple, before him] you shall become a plain [a mere molehill]! And he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it!
Zerubbabel is the one who led the rebuilding of God’s Temple in Jerusalem between 536 BC and 516 BC.
Later Nehemiah governs Judah and rebuilds the walls of Jerusalem around 444 BC, almost a hundred years later. Today not only is the corporate Temple (the Church as a whole) in need of great repair but the wall is down as well. As you study the Old Testament and Israel in particular you will see cycles of righteousness and unrighteousness. This is not peculiar to that people but to the Church as well. I will be focused on Zerubbabel with these teachings.
Lord willing I will pick up right here next week with another fresh Word from the Throne.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.

Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
