FULL OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE LORD

CHURCH ANCIENT SMYRNA
Greetings precious saints of God and welcome back to our invigorating (refreshing, stimulating, revitalizing) study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. O what a wonderful God we serve! Remember, we love you and there is nothing you can do about it. Please take a moment and share these teachings to expand the reach of this Ministry. Thank you for sharing. You are a vital part of this Ministry. Those of you the Lord prompted to share and didn’t, you might want to start working on the answer you will give at the Judgment Seat of Christ. The featured picture today is of the ancient Church at Smyrna (one of seven Church’s in the Revelation) as a reminder that we are commanded to pray one for another. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in this wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 11:6-9 (KJV)
6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Yesterday I made the argument that this passage is not describing conditions during of the 1000-year reign of Christ but rather conditions with the new heaven and the new earth. We see the final judgment of the devil in Revelation chapter twenty. And, I might say, good riddance.
Revelation 20:10 (KJV)
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Next, we see the creation of the new heaven and new earth prepared not only for us, the saints, but God Himself will dwell among us. O what a day!
Revelation 21:1-7 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
I want to take a moment and draw our attention to a couple of things that might otherwise escape scrutiny. In verse four the Holy Spirit speaks of doing away with tears, death, sorrow, crying, pain, and former things. Is the Scripture just being redundant by the mention of God wiping away all tears and there being no more sorrow nor crying? I do think the sorrow and crying go together but the wiping away of all tears I think is referring to something much for profound. The circumstances of the new heaven and the new earth and the eternity to follow will never elicit sorrow and crying. It is my opinion that the reference to God wiping away our tears has to do with our memories. I think in this current age, current teaching, we do not plumb the depths of the consequences of disobedience. Even what we might call minor disobedience, which we think are of no consequence may have unintended and devastating consequences down the line not only for us personally but others. Think of a pebble dropped in a pond and how the waves of water radiate out in all directions. Only God will be able to deal on our behalf with unfathomable mercy with this knowledge and understanding.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
