GIFTS – PART SEVENTY-NINE
ARMOR OF GOD – PART TWENTY-ONE

Greetings dear and precious children, sons, of the only Living God and welcome back to this Bible Study of “Gifts” currently focused on the Armor of God. Please take a moment and share these teachings as widely as possible to expand the reach of this Ministry. It also allows you to participate with us in the dissemination of the good news (gospel). As you know very well the Holy Spirit has not led me to dive directly into a discussion of the Armor itself but to take time and look at the foundation on which the effective use of the Armor depends. Many know about the Armor of God but seemingly few use it effectively.
The Holy Spirit has given much instruction to this point and it is vital that we pay attention and not just think we can pick up the Armor of God and be proficient. Let’s review for a moment the underpinnings we have discussed thus far. We found that obedience to parents is key (dependent children) however this command applies to us all with regard to submission to those in authority both in the secular and spiritual realms. We found that being led of the Holy Spirit here as in every part of our walk with Christ is paramount, essential. We are to highly honor one another and of course above all the Lord and the things of the Lord. This includes honoring the men and women the Lord sends into our lives like the Pastor and others. We are to walk in love (agape), remember it is love that is the power, the fuel, for our faith and we cannot please God without real faith. We are to have a heart full of thanksgiving in and for all things. It is through our thanksgiving that we have victory and triumph in the Kingdom of God. We are to receive the word with all gladness of heart but we must prove if it is the Truth before believing and letting it change us. You will remember that Ephesians 5:3-7 lists a long list of sins that most Christians would vehemently deny applied to them. However, this Book is to the Church, was the Holy Spirit confused? Finally, in our study thus far we are admonished to not have fellowship with darkness. We ended last week with the admonition, the command, to walk as wise and to make the best use of our time. That is not to say we are to be on a dead run all the time. Listen to the Master.
Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Wow, is our yoke easy and our burden light? Jesus said if it was of Him, it was easy and light. So, if it is not easy and light let’s come to Him and see what the trouble might be. We have either accepted the yoke and burdens given of the devil, by other people, or according to our own desires. If you can’t relax and having to be doing something every minute, ask the Lord for His help and repent of unproductive human business. Now let’s move ahead in our text from the 5th chapter of Ephesians.
Ephesians 5:17-20 (KJV)
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Wisdom is walking according to the Word of God, we can only walk according to the Word of God if we study, know, and implement the Word of God. Remember these Scriptures.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Romans 12:2 (KJV)
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
An interesting thing about the Romans 12:2 Scripture is that the word “prove” carries with it the idea of allowing. Are we at times when it is not convenient or according to our current understanding failing to allow the “good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”? Something to consider.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as your Bible Teacher and a Prophetic Voice in your life I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
