HEALTH, HEALING, AND MIRACLES – PART THREE
Sunday – March 25, 2018 – Nisan 9, 5778

Greetings and welcome back to this wonderfully enlightening and faith promoting study of our Covenant health, healing, and miracles. God is so very good. Health, healing, and miracles should be as much a part of the life of a believer as eating and sleeping. Health is the possession of the mature believer. There is no record of Jesus ever having a sick day. For that matter there is no record of Moses ever having a sick day and he wasn’t even born again. If health was a Covenant issue under the old and weaker animal blood covenant it is certainly ours under a better Covenant sealed with the Blood of Jesus. Everything guaranteed for the people of God under the old covenant is enfolded and strengthened in the New Covenant. Let’s examine the following verses which I hope is familiar to all of us.
Psalm 105:37 (KJV)
37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
Our Covenant is not less than the one for the Old Testament people. When they came out of bondage they were rich (not a spiritual richness when we all get to Heaven) in their time and they were healed (healthy). When we are saved and come out of bondage to Satan and the world we have full access to wealth and health by faith. It is not God’s fault if we are not rich and healthy. He paid a high price, a price that all the wealth of this world or the universe combined could not cover. We certainly could not pay an adequate price for eternal life, redemption from sin, and restoration to God. The good, the bad, and the ugly in our lives is by our own choices. As we prepare to move forward we need to understand that in the Hebrew mind if God allows something that does not differ from Him doing it. Let’s look at the following example.
Exodus 12:12 (KJV)
12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.
In this verse it appears that the LORD (Jehovah) is going to kill the firstborn of the Egyptians however we get more detail in the following verse.
Exodus 12:23 (KJV)
23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.
As you will recall the word “suffer” in this context means “allow”, that God would not allow the angel of death, the destroyer, to kill the firstborn when the blood was present. The context here is that they have obeyed the LORD in procuring and preparing the lamb as well as applying the blood. Critical to this whole process was removing all leaven from the house and from the bread. Leaven is representative of sin. Leaven in the bread represents contaminated word or word that is mixed with tradition and the doctrine of devils. Contaminated word is almost worse than no word at all. Contaminated water brings sickness and disease and so will the Word of God that we have allowed to be contaminated with the thoughts of the world, and the devil.
Exodus 15:26 (KJV)
26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
As we examine the preceding verse notice for this to apply to us we must listen diligently to the voice of the Lord. Not only are we to listen but we are to actually do what is being said. In that setting God will not allow any of the curse to come upon us. Since the curse is rampant in the Church what might we conclude? Let’s consider the following Scripture.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (KJV)
19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
The Lord tells us very plainly that He has set life and death, blessing and cursing before us and we are to choose. Why do we choose death and the curse? We do verse nineteen by faith. Verse twenty (redemption) gives us some criteria which are helpful. We are to love the LORD our God which is to obey His voice. His voice is the Word of God and that still small voice within. We are to cleave which is a very active process on our part just like the man is to cleave to his wife. When we cleave to the Lord our God we are to impinge, to cling or adhere; to catch by pursuit, abide fast, follow close (hard after), be joined (together), keep (fast), overtake, pursue hard after, stick to, or take according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. I don’t think that we have been taught to take this thing anywhere as seriously as we must to be the man or woman God made us to be. As I close for this week let’s recall the following verse.
1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
We are already healed in the spirit realm, it was paid for and has been waiting for us now some two-thousand years. Healing is spiritual first by eliminating the leaven in our lives, then it is physical by faith, absent doubt, and by saying, then God does the work.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
