AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

HEAR THE WORD OF THE LORD
Greetings precious saints of the only living God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word and our study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. What a rich and wonderful Book. The featured picture today is graciously provided by our good friend Joe Getchell Jr, a man of God. Please take a moment to share these teachings as widely as possible. Share especially with those who you know to be hungering and thirsting after the Word, the Kingdom, and righteousness (not only right standing but doing things His way, the right way). You might be surprised to know that many in the body of Christ are not hungering and thirsting for Him. Those hungering and thirsting for Him, who are focused on the spiritual things (Kingdom of God, ways of God) have life and peace. Those who are hungering and thirsting after the carnal or natural things of life, giving the flesh preeminence, will have death in their lives.
Romans 8:6 (KJV)
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
The word minded in this verse has to do with our focus. The right order in our lives, our thinking, makes all the difference in our lives and the lives of those around us. Notice the order in the following verse, however, I hope you don’t think this is a verse in isolation, the whole of Scripture teaches this.
Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
There you have it, from the mouth of our Lord Himself. One caution, we do not know the heart of any person, therefore do not judge anyone’s fervor (passion, dedication, enthusiasm) for the Lord by any outward signs. The person closest to the Lord in any Church may not be the most conspicuous one. Now let’s turn our attention to the Bible Book of Isaiah and read our primary text aloud, yes, out loud. Faith comes by hearing, not seeing.
Isaiah 1:10-13 (KJV)
10 Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts?
13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Let’s ask ourselves this question. Is anyone, any ruler hearing the Word of the Lord? Am I hearing the Word of the Lord? By hearing I am not referring to the appreciation of physical sound but are we listening to understand, are we hearing. Do we have ears (spiritual) to hear? When we see the phrase “rulers of Sodom” our minds might rush to the political rulers of our nation. Are they the most important rulers in our nation? Who has the superior authority in our nation? I sure hope you have gotten this right, especially if you have been following these teachings for any length of time. We, the Anointed body of Christ have dominion over the earth and over every evil power (and holy Power) in the earth. So, I guess we were never taught that, or too timid to use that authority and walk in the favor of God, our Father.
In just the last few days the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that Christian Schools, Colleges, and Universities must allow self-identified transgender persons use the bathrooms, etc. of their chosen gender. I don’t know the depravity of Sodom and Gomorrah exceeded the depravity of America and the world. Is the Church just shaking their collective head in disgust and saying they are praying or will pray about it? That is all well and good but what about repentance for allowing any of this in the first place? Once we have repented there must be supernatural decrees, concrete physical actions, and persistent spiritual warfare subduing these wicked spirits of sexual perversion. This would be the same process as when Nehemiah was moved to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. I suggest you read the first Chapter of Nehemiah and see what repentance looks like and then move forward to see what the favor of God looks like. Subsequently Nehemiah is successful with constant vigilance and warfare, both spiritual and physical in his case. Remember, every physical example contains a spiritual Truth! In our day, the most significant warfare will be spiritual. There will be physical things which must be accomplished, like getting righteous people in office, mounting legal challenges, and so on. Above all, we, the rulers of our communities, states, and nation must first hear the Word of the Lord and do it. Remember, in the end, the wicked rulers of this present darkness are uncircumcised philistines to us just as Goliath was to David.

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
