HEIRS AND JOINT-HEIRS
Wednesday – May 31, 2017

Welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. Oh, what a Book, Oh, what a Bible, thank you Father for your Word! Because of the Word, the Son, I can know you and be returned to my possession and to my rightful family, a Jubilee! Once again let us set our eyes upon the Word of God with the idea of going to it and making it ours fortifying our Godly thoughts and tearing down our ungodly thoughts.
Hebrews 1:1-3 (KJV)
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
We are told in Hebrews 1:2 that God the Father’s Son (Jesus, the Word) is appointed heir of all things. What do you figure is excluded from “all things”? The most common translation of the Greek word used here is ‘all’ 748 times and ‘all things’ 170 times. Let’s look at this second verse in the Amplified Translation.
Hebrews 1:2 (AMP)
2 [But] in the last of these days He has spoken to us in [the person of a] Son, Whom He appointed Heir and lawful Owner of all things, also by and through Whom He created the worlds and the reaches of space and the ages of time [He made, produced, built, operated, and arranged them in order].
God the Father had the idea of this creation, Jesus was the voice of this creation, and the Holy Spirit was the power of this creation. Jesus is now the head of the Kingdom of God. He has authority over all personalities and is the possessor of all things. That authority does not include the Father nor does it preclude the exercise of freewill by those under His authority. You know that is true because neither you nor I have always done the will of God. When all is complete with the advent of the new Heaven and the new earth with every enemy defeated and disposed of forever, Jesus (the Word) will present it all to the Father.
1 Corinthians 15:24-27 (KJV)
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
Jesus is The Son of God but remember that you and I are sons of God (male and female). The Scripture tells us clearly that we are joint-heirs with Christ.
Romans 8:16-17 (KJV)
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
I think most of us are familiar with being an heir and the receiving of an inheritance. For example if a person dies and it is in their will that you are an heir, it means you get some portion of the estate. Let’s say there are two heirs and the estate of $100,000.00 is being split therefore each would receive $50,000.00. This is not how it works in the Kingdom of God. A joint-heir inherits the same as if as if there was only one heir, each of us inherit it all. Scripture says Jesus is heir of all but then we are told we are joint-heirs and therefore heir of all. The Kingdom of God pie cannot be divided for it is infinite and always on the increase. When there is a new heir suddenly there is twice as much of an infinite unmeasurable possession. Just think of it in terms of whatever Jesus has access to we have access to without diminishment. In Christ Jesus we too are heir of all things! Brother and sister this is not just for the sweet by and by but for right now in the earth. Do we really understand this? How much light do we have concerning this promise, this reality that we may walk in led of the Spirit by faith? How great is our darkness? Why can’t we grasp it and walk in it? Do we have high places (lies of the devil) that are displacing this Truth? Have we bought into the poverty mentality, the worm in the dirt mentality, I have to struggle and suffer until I die to show my worthiness mentality? Jesus paid it all, He had it all before and has it again, and He, the Father, and the Holy Spirit have made the whole enchilada (everything) available to us.
In the Hebrew a ‘son’ is a builder of the family name. When we look into the Greek and the word ‘creature’ from 2 Corinthians 5:17 we get a more complete glimpse of the wonderful inheritance, the wonderful place we have in this Kingdom of God. As a new creature we are not only builders in this Kingdom but owners (heirs) and creators (just like Daddy, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit). Jesus was restored to eternal life and so have we been, Jesus was restored to His original position and so we have been restored to a place just a little lower than Elohim (pleural of God). Jesus got a brand new body and ours is on the way. This new body is indestructible, not subject to natural conditions like weather, and not subject to any kind of curse or corruption including death. O Happy Day!
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
