THE THREE MINUTE WORD

I AM THE LORD THY GOD

Greetings dear children of our Heavenly Father and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. We are pursuing the Truths of this wonderful Bible Book with all of our hearts. This is not to be a casual information gathering time but a time when we make His thoughts ours, His Words ours, and His ways ours. I know you have been told over and over perhaps that His ways are not our ways and so on but dear ones that is not what the full counsel of Scripture tells us who worship God. We will cover this in great detail when we get to Isaiah chapter 55 but suffice to say now, He made us in His image, His likeness, and of the same kind (god class) to have His thoughts, His Words, and do things His way.
The featured picture today is to remind us of the seven pillars of society (Proverbs 9:1) and to pray for them on a regular basis. Remember, we are not begging God to do something about the messes in the earth. He has delegated all authority in the earth to us, His children, according to His will (its in the Bible). When will we in our personal life, our family life, our community, and nation exercise our God given authority? Have you wondered why things are going from bad to worse? We, the people of God, the ones with the authority to bind wickedness and loose righteousness have been sitting on our hands begging God to do our part. Not going to happen dear ones. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 43:1-4 (KJV)
1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.
4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.
God is telling His people then and His people now that when adversities of many kinds come, He is with them and they are passing through. Doesn’t this remind you of another Scripture?
Psalm 23:4 (KJV)
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
This is not just referring to our impending physical death but death of any sort in our lives like relationships, etc. All too many Christians camp out in the adversities they find themselves suffering. Our enemies (demons) are presenting us with sin options all day every day. We must get increasingly skillful at identifying them and resisting the devils in full submission to God. Full submission to God dear ones! If we fail to identify one of these sin opportunities as such and the curse gains entrance we must immediately resist the devil with the Word of God applicable to the situation. He will flee. Sin opportunities are any words not in line with Scripture. Please don’t get caught up in the lie, “that’s not so bad”. Yes, it is bad, it is wickedness! Can Christians be wicked? Yes!! When we, His people, sin there may well be physical consequences that persist. God can make lemonade out of the lemons of our lives. The spiritual side, which is where sin always starts, is blotted out of His remembrance forever in the face of our true repentance.
As we prepare to close for today let us consider the third verse of our primary text. God (ʾelōhîm, pleural name of God) repeatedly tells this His people He is their Lord, their God, their Holy One, and their Savior. All the while they are still in rebellion. We also see a type and shadow of the coming Messiah in this verse. He gave the Messiah in our stead. God is calling things that be not at that moment, or this moment, as though they be, and they will be soon (in the Millennium).
Romans 4:17 (KJV)
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. (Bold added)
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Bold added)
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
