IF MY PEOPLE – PART FOUR
Sunday – April 26, 2020, Iyar 2, 5780
Greetings my dear and precious brothers and sisters in Christ. Welcome back to this Sunday series, today titled “If My People”. By the time you read this the situation with the Corona virus will be in a different but not better place than today (March 18-19, 2020). This pestilence has brought humiliation to the Church and hopefully the conviction and acknowledgment to repent in sackcloth and ashes. The title for this teaching as you may have already recognized comes from a very familiar 2 Chronicles passage. This teaching is taking several weeks to accomplish. Most of you may be able to quote verse fourteen of the following passage due to seeing it and hearing it so often. I have been hearing this verse prayed, read, and quoted for decades. Why do you suppose this prayer goes unanswered to this day and in fact things have gotten far worse? Are we missing something? Is the land being devoured and are there pestilences among us? Not to mention the Corona virus, what about the wanton murder of babies in the womb, the expanding perversion of sex, and near total breakdown in the family. As many of you know the Lord speaking through me has been calling the Church to repentance for many years. The Lord will continue to have me do so until I go home or there is an awakening in the Church. You would think the Church could see that what we are doing now is just plain not working, it does not match the will of God clearly delineated in the Bible. Does your Church even remotely look like the four gospels or the Book of Acts? Why not? What we are doing is not working because it is not faith in the pure Word of God, powered by love (agape), led of the Holy Spirit. No, I am not on a rant, Church awaken!
Be aware that there is a remnant arising that will be the tool God will use to bring the fullness of His glory into the earth.
Habakkuk 2:13-14 (KJV)
13 Behold, is it not of the LORD of hosts that the people shall labour in the very fire, and the people shall weary themselves for very vanity?
14 For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.(bold added)
The “glory of the LORD” is the goodness of God.
Romans 2:4 (KJV)
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? (bold added)
The whole earth will see the goodness, the glory, of God, with a great harvest of souls, and then the end shall come followed by tribulation. Now, let’s turn our attention to the text and read it slowly and reflectively (thoughtfully, meditatively) aloud. Yes, aloud!
2 Chronicles 7:12-16 (KJV)
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16 For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Let’s focus on verse fourteen intently. God is addressing His people not the world. When this passage comes up many are thinking and talking about how bad things are in the world, God is talking about how bad things are in the Church. It is the Church that God is calling to repentance! For repentance to be effective, truly accomplished who must humble us? We must humble ourselves. We need to, each one individually, and as a body seek (pray) God as to the specific areas of sin. We then must have a true repentance which may involve some tears but most importantly we must come into full agreement with God, changing how we think, how we talk, and what we are doing. Then and only then do we have legal standing in the court of Heaven to present a case, have it heard, and our sin blotted out. Yes, we are on our way to Heaven but in full defeat mode. Just how much enjoyment do you suppose God gets out of our rebellion and seeing the devil beat our brains out? Right now, with the Corona virus the Church was not and is not in Goshen but mixed in with the world suffering the plagues of wickedness together. True repentance will bring not just a healing of our land but our community, our State, and our Nation. Since the healing of our land has not taken place but has instead grown worse, we can conclude that we have not repented and turned from our wicked ways? Yes, we Christians have wicked ways and we have not turned from our wicked ways!
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
