THE THREE MINUTE WORD
Monday – August 21, 2023, Elul 4, 5783
Greetings dear children of God. You are all children of God, right? If not take care of that right now. When our lives end, and everyone’s does, your body goes into the ground but your spirit/soul goes to either Heaven or Hell. In case you are ambivalent about it, there is no comparison between the two, make Heaven your home today, this very moment.
Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
If you confessed this Scripture for the first time, welcome to the family, and drop us a line with your testimony. Now, welcome back to our ongoing Bible study of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Before proceeding forward please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today is to remind us all to pray for all seven pillars of society. It is vital that each of us answer Gods’ call and take our place of excellence and problem solving. Like Daniel and the three Hebrew children we will rise like cream to the top of each pillar and righteousness will be the byword again of our nation. When you pray concerning the Religious Pillar (Gate, Mountain, Sphere of Influence) pray very specifically for your pastor, the leadership of your Church.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful instructive Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 44:8-11 (KJV)
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
9 They that make a graven image are all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they are their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
10 Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image that is profitable for nothing?
11 Behold, all his fellows shall be ashamed: and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; yet they shall fear, and they shall be ashamed together.
The Lord is wooing with great patience and mercy His people back to Himself. Isn’t it amazing just how knuckleheaded mankind, Gods’ very own people, and today even Church people are towards God. Look how fast a game or recital can knock God right out of the picture. This teaches the child that they and perhaps other things take precedence over God. Since Calvary these are people filled with God Himself. An advantage the people here in Isaiah’s’ time did not have the luxury to experience. These cycles of worshipping God and then turning to other gods is apparent in this one book say nothing of the rest of the Bible. What about you and me. Don’t we sometimes cycle between hot and cold so to speak? Are we looking through a lens of obligation or a lens of having the privilege and joy to be in the family of God?
Last week we left off with the common Bible command to fear not. If our God gives us a command it is because we are well equipped to do the command. Where does the failure to fear not start? It starts with a failure to do the preeminent command.
Matthew 22:36-40 (KJV)
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
This love is agapē/agapaō, the God level love, the love we as born-again Christians are capable of expressing just like our Lord. Agapē is the noun form, this is what we are, and agapaō is the verb form which is what we are do. Listen to the Apostle John.
1 John 4:18 (KJV)
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
