IT SHALL COME TO PASS

Greetings dear and precious saints of God, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, our big Brother! Welcome back to our illuminating and empowering study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. God is just so good dear ones, how can we but rejoice? At first glance, who we are, and what we are in Christ Jesus just boggles the mind. In spite of what Scripture actually says, so many believe and many teach a defeated gospel. It is commonly taught that God uses all sorts of awful things to shape us into the persons He wants us to be. Really!? That gospel is not in the Bible, neither in the Old or the New Covenant! In Christ Jesus we are far above all authority excepting that of God. The Power that is available to flow in and through us is the same Power that has created all things. That same power that raised Jesus from the dead, raised us with Him.
The featured picture today was taken of Donna and me at a wonderful local diner. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you for the glory of God. There is no news, absolutely none, that is even close to being as good as the Word of God. Thank you for sharing. All who share are vital to the Kingdom. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. Repent of rebelliousness and read out loud with ears to hear, a commitment to understand, and to do.
Isaiah 27:10-13 (KJV)
10 Yet the defenced city shall be desolate, and the habitation forsaken, and left like a wilderness: there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume the branches thereof.
11 When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.
12 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel.
13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
Our text refers to this wayward, scattered, and defeated people as “a people of no understanding”. Again today, let’s take a look at the meaning of this word translated to English as ‘understanding’ in verse eleven. It can also be translated as to have knowledge, know the meaning, having and using wisdom, or to separate mentally (or distinguish) between in this case good and evil according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary. So, God is saying they did not have knowledge of the Truth, did not come to know the meaning of the Truth they had, did not use the wisdom of God, nor did they distinguish between what was good and what was evil in the sight of God. Remember it is not the lack of knowledge that leads to destruction, it is our rejecting of knowledge the Truth that leads to destruction (Hosea 4:6). We must identify and reject all the sacred cows taught in the Church and by others around us and live the Truth. Sacred cows are those things we believe to be the Truth but are in fact lies of the devils, the traditions of men.
As we move into verse twelve there is a shift of focus. We move from their (Israelites) current (at that time) situation to a coming time, to “in that day”. Let’s look at this verse in The Living Bible.
Isaiah 27:12 (TLB)
12 Yet the time will come when the Lord will gather them together one by one like handpicked grain, selecting them here and there from his great threshing floor that reaches all the way from the Euphrates River to the Egyptian boundary.
What we find in this verse is the borders that God granted Israel but they never occupied at any time in their history. However, not to far in the future they will during the Millennial Reign of Christ.
Genesis 15:18 (KJV)
18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
When we study Israel, we see that we, the Church, are in many ways a mirror image. I know many have said “oh we would never be like that, do like that”. Really!? Have you or me taken possession of and had manifested in your lives of all the promises of God? It would appear to me that “the day” being referred to is at the Second Coming (not the Catching Away) of Christ and following in the 1000-year reign of Christ and us with Him.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week. Remember that we love you and there is nothing you can do about it.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
