KINDNESS DOES NOT MAKE THE WICKED GOOD

Greetings dear friends and partners and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. The Lord is being very kind to us providing us insights into the Word, into Him. Our goal is not to just live and not die but to fulfill all of His Word for each of us in the earth. Not everyone that comes through that gate of Pearl into Heaven is going to hear, what I think we all want to hear from the Master, which is “well done good and faithful servant”. Have I, have you, been faithful? Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible and by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. The featured picture today is of the State of Georgia Statehouse. This is to remind us all to pray for those who are in authority.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
One way or another, we individually, the Church corporately, have placed them in that place of authority. God honors our choices. Remember this, Scripture?
Matthew 16:19 (CJB)
19 I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven. Whatever you prohibit on earth will be prohibited in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.”
The word “in” just before “heaven” twice is also translated as ‘by’. Heaven backs up our choices, we have authority in the earth. When we exercise that authority Heaven backs us up. Let me remind you of the following Scripture which affirms this law.
Hebrews 1:3 (KJV)
3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (highlight added)
One of the major things He upholds is our authority delegated by God over all the earth. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Scripture continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 26:9-11 (TLB)
9 All night long I search for you; earnestly I seek for God; for only when you come in judgment on the earth to punish it will people turn away from wickedness and do what is right.
10 Your kindness to the wicked doesn’t make them good; they keep on doing wrong and take no notice of your majesty.
11 They do not listen when you threaten; they will not look to see your upraised fist. Show them how much you love your people. Perhaps then they will be ashamed! Yes, let them be burned up by the fire reserved for your enemies.
As we pick up with verse nine, Isaiah is complaining or making the observation that only when judgment comes do people turn from their wickedness. This is not always true. Remember who is talking here. Isaiah, not God, is making this observation. Let me just remind us of Pharoah in the process of letting God’s people go and, in the Tribulation, to come (Revelation 6) and the time of Sixth Seal. They recognize what was happening, repentance was still available, but it does not mention that they repented anywhere. Isaiah observes that God’s great forbearance in the face of great evil does not cause the wicked to become good. Let’s again review the following familiar passage.
Romans 1:18-21 (NLT)
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
20 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
This is rampant today! The foolishness that is being put forward and accepted in some circles is absolutely baffling like men can become pregnant and have babies. Really? And, if you don’t believe that you are transgender phobic and inciting violence. This according to a college professor in an exchange with Senator Hawley of Missouri in a recent hearing on Capitol Hill. Wow!
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
