THEY TAKE NO NOTICE OF YOUR MAJESTY

Greetings precious children of the Most High God, the only Living God, and welcome back to this illuminating and provoking (to righteousness) Bible Study of Isaiah. God is so good to give us His Word so that we have no need to be in ignorance and bang about in the dark hoping we are on the right path. Ignorance is a choice that we make. That is not to say than anyone now or in a thousand years will have all knowledge. We are all exceedingly ignorant. The question is this, are we receiving the knowledge God is providing and are we actively pursuing knowledge of God and His (our) Kingdom?
Hosea 4:6 (KJV)
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
God is telling His people (not the devil’s people) that the destruction in their lives is not due to ignorance but the knowledge He brought to them and they rejected. Are we lazy, are we making many other things more important than the Word of God? What is more important than the Word of God? In case you are struggling with this, nothing is more important than the Word of God, nothing, period.
Joshua 18:3 (KJV)
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?
Joshua told these children of Israel, and the same applies to us, that the reason they did not possess the promises of God was slackness better known as laziness.
Please take a moment share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much for sharing. The featured picture today was provided by our good friend and faithful man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. Thank you, Joe, for your beautiful pictures. Now as we continue to read out loud let’s listen to our primary Scripture with the intent to understand and do.
Isaiah 26:9-11 (TLB)
9 All night long I search for you; earnestly I seek for God; for only when you come in judgment on the earth to punish it will people turn away from wickedness and do what is right.
10 Your kindness to the wicked doesn’t make them good; they keep on doing wrong and take no notice of your majesty.
11 They do not listen when you threaten; they will not look to see your upraised fist. Show them how much you love your people. Perhaps then they will be ashamed! Yes, let them be burned up by the fire reserved for your enemies.
As you recall we left off yesterday with verse eleven as Isaiah is complaining that the wicked not only don’t appreciate the kindness of God but they take no notice of His majesty. The word majesty can be referring to an exalted position, rank, or one who is above all in excellence. Both would certainly apply to our God. To look at all of creation, say nothing of the human body, and think it is all the result of some big bang is folly at a crescendo.
In verse eleven Isaiah observes that the wicked pay no attention when warned, threatened by God. Now don’t conclude that the wicked is referring to people other than Gods’ people. He is talking to Gods’ people. Until tomorrow meditate the following passage from the mouth of the Master.
Luke 6:45-49 (KJV)
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
What about verse forty-six and what about the fruit in our lives? Are evil things manifesting in our lives and is our house in ruin? We have caused this by the words of our mouth, our disobedience.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
