Greetings dear ones in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and welcome back to this enabling Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Like the rest of Scripture, it is only enabling when we receive it, prove it, believe it, and implement it not doubting. Hearing and parroting back will not get it done; it is vain. Listen (you are reading out loud aren’t you) to two witnesses.
Matthew 6:7 (KJV)
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
1 Timothy 6:20-21 (KJV)
20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you so much. The featured image today is provided by Joe Getchell Jr a dedicated man of God, thank you so much Joe for the beautiful pictures.
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud, yes, out loud. You know why!
Isaiah 51:17-23 (TLB)
17 Wake up, wake up, Jerusalem! You have drunk enough from the cup of the fury of the Lord. You have drunk to the dregs the cup of terror and squeezed out the last drops.
18 Not one of her sons is left alive to help or tell her what to do.
19 These two things have been your lot: desolation and destruction. Yes, famine and the sword. And who is left to sympathize? Who is left to comfort you?
20 For your sons have fainted and lie in the streets, helpless as wild goats caught in a net. The Lord has poured out his fury and rebuke upon them.
21 But listen now to this, afflicted ones—full of troubles and in a stupor (but not from being drunk)—
22 this is what the Lord says, the Lord your God who cares for his people: “See, I take from your hands the terrible cup; you shall drink no more of my fury; it is gone at last.
23 But I will put that terrible cup into the hands of those who tormented you and trampled your souls to the dust and walked upon your backs.”
Have you ever wondered why they did not listen to God? Have you and I ever wondered why we don’t listen to God? Our fallen nature is polluted with pride and rebellion. Is the old man dead? None of us, including this writer, should assume we are excluded and these Scriptures and these teachings are for someone else, another Church, or the world. All of this is for us!
Romans 15:4 (KJV)
4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Let’s take a closer look at verse 21 of our primary text before ending for today.
Isaiah 51:21 (AMP)
21 Therefore, now hear this, you who are afflicted, and [who are] drunk, but not with wine [but thrown down by the wrath of God].
Have you ever noticed that some relish hardship, the image of the suffering saint? It brings attention from those around, even pity, they experience a secondary gain, but this is evil. Before a religious devil get someone too excited let me define hardship and suffering as not the temptations of the enemy and our own lusts but the entrenchment of stealing, killing, and destroying in our life.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow. Remember the Lord is good, He is just, He cannot lie!

2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
