MY HEART IS HEAVY

Greetings dear friends and partners and children of our Heavenly Father and welcome back to our Bible Study of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching by every means available to you to expand our reach with the Truth. The featured picture today was taken by a wonderful friend of mine, Rev. Ken Carter, on one of his trips to Israel, and it is the prophesied place of the Armageddon to come. This is also known as the plain of Megiddo.
Revelation 16:14-16 (KJV)
14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
One has to wonder if the judgment spoken of by the Prophet Joel is not one and the same as the battle of Armageddon on the mountain and plain of Megiddo.
Joel 3:1-2 (KJV)
1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
It won’t be long now and we will have clarity in these matters, we will be there with our Lord. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah and of course continue to read out loud.
Isaiah 24:16-20 (NLT)
16 We hear songs of praise from the ends of the earth, songs that give glory to the Righteous One! But my heart is heavy with grief. Weep for me, for I wither away. Deceit still prevails, and treachery is everywhere.
17 Terror and traps and snares will be your lot, you people of the earth.
18 Those who flee in terror will fall into a trap, and those who escape the trap will be caught in a snare. Destruction falls like rain from the heavens; the foundations of the earth shake.
19 The earth has broken up. It has utterly collapsed; it is violently shaken.
20 The earth staggers like a drunk. It trembles like a tent in a storm. It falls and will not rise again, for the guilt of its rebellion is very heavy.
As I look at these verses and meditate upon them, I have to wonder if this is not referring to our time. The time just before the wrath of God and the Lamb is poured out, followed by the 1000-year reign of Christ over the whole earth from Jerusalem. Is it not true that we see the Church happily singing along while the earth descends further and further into a morass of stealing, killing, and destroying by the wicked motivated by demons? The has the superior authority in the earth by far yet we sit like will hapless victims. The whole earth is ours yet we have abdicated to the wicked. Worst of all the Church has taught that this is right and righteous. However, there is a day of vengeance (justice) coming as the Prophet goes on to say.
Isaiah 24:21-23 (NLT)
21 In that day the LORD will punish the gods in the heavens and the proud rulers of the nations on earth.
22 They will be rounded up and put in prison. They will be shut up in prison and will finally be punished.
23 Then the glory of the moon will wane, and the brightness of the sun will fade, for the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will rule on Mount Zion. He will rule in great glory in Jerusalem, in the sight of all the leaders of his people.
We see the Tribulation period followed by the battle of Armageddon and the rule of Christ in the earth. In verse twenty-one the reference to “gods in the heavens” is referring to the demonic powers in the heavens. In this passage we do not see the fulness of the Church, the rising remnant, the glorious Church without spot or wrinkle just before the Catching away. Oh, what a day that will be dear ones.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
