AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

MY WARNINGS WILL FINALLY DAWN ON YOU
Greetings dear and precious children of God, our God is not one of many Gods but the only God who can and does save. Save from Hell, oh yeah Hell is very real and forever, and give us an abundant life and later forever. We must be careful not to turn aside to other gods (little g). These are not gods at all really, just made-up imaginations brought of the Devil. We empower these gods ourselves with our thoughts, words, and actions. When worshipping these gods, one is worshipping the Devil. Anyone, any activity, or anything that takes precedence over God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) is a false god. We give place to the devil and here comes the curse (stealing, killing, and destroying). Let’s look at the first of the Big Ten.
Exodus 20:1-6 (KJV)
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (Bold added)
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
There is great benefit to honoring, loving, the Lord far above ALL else. Plus, what can these other gods really do for us in the big picture, only very temporary false satisfaction. On the other hand, Gods’ rewards are eternal and so is our level of satisfaction. We must not turn aside to other gods. That is accomplished at least in part by study, not reading, studying.
Deuteronomy 28:14-15 (KJV)
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
Have any of us chosen to go aside to words other than the Word of God? I suspect all answer with a resounding “no” but is that a true answer. I am not saying one is lying, I am saying that walking in deception is common. The Holy Spirit, our spirit warned us but we hardened our hearts to the Truth and became convinced the lie was the truth. We willfully chose other words over His then are appalled when the curse shows up. Worse yet many have developed a theology to remove all guilt, blame, from us and even worse place it on God. One last thing before I move on, the Words of Jesus.
Matthew 6:24 (KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
The word “mammon” here could also be translated as “the god of materialism”. Things of this earth come with serving the Lord with a whole heart. God is not against us being rich, very rich, for it is a witness of His abundant goodness. One last thing for now, the word ‘love’ here is agapaō the verb form of agape, in this case meaning we obey and put our whole selves into the acquisition of money according to Strong’s Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
I know I have used much of our time and space but this is extraordinarily important and none of us should assume it has nothing to do with us. This may seem disconnected from our primary text but really this is where Israel was and God was making yet another merciful all-out effort and get them back to Him, to His Words. Now, let’s pivot to our primary Bible text in Isaiah and take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Be sure you are reading out loud.
Isaiah 28:17-19 (TLB)
17 I will take the line and plummet of justice to check the foundation wall you built; it looks so fine, but it is so weak a storm of hail will knock it down! The enemy will come like a flood and sweep it away, and you will be drowned.
18 I will cancel your agreement of compromise with Death and the devil, so when the terrible enemy floods in, you will be trampled into the ground.
19 Again and again that flood will come and carry you off, until at last the unmixed horror of the truth of my warnings will finally dawn on you.”
Perhaps after we are carried off by our enemies and you experience the horrors of these other words, the arm of flesh, my Truths will dawn on you. Is God saying they and we are a little, a lot, slow on the uptake?

20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
