NOW YOU ARE WEAK
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to this powerful Bible Study of the Book of Isaiah. Before we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible. Thank you for sharing. Earlier this week I asked the question; what is more important than the Word of God. The answer is nothing by a country mile! The Lord, the Word of God, is to be far above every other word, person, activity, or thing. Let’s stop rationalizing why its ok to put the Lord in the back seat from time-to-time Church. Do we look at this and nod our heads in mental affirmation or is this our heartbeat? When the body of Christ to which we have been assigned comes together and we are not there is it ok? The Apostle Paul by the unction of the Holy Spirit used the example of the human body in describing the workings of the spiritual body of Christ. Would my body be at full efficiency if one leg was missing from time to time?
Some time back I talked about four broad functions of the Church. These were social activities, playground activities, teaching, and work. When will we start doing the work of the Kingdom? There is nothing wrong with social activities, nothing wrong with playground activities but what counts in the end is the work of the Kingdom of God. What about the teaching? Is the teaching showing how something is actually done or is that part missing? We are told to have faith, to believe God, and He will bring it to pass. Is that the whole story? What if a doctor in training was told that they needed to inquire of their patients and examine them but never told and shown how to do these things? We are told that one was believing for X and then they received X but the middle between believing for X and the receiving of X is missing from the account.
Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text continuing to read out loud. We are now coming into the account of the fall of Lucifer which we will tackle next week Lord willing and has powerful lessons for us all. As we transition, we see that the Lord through the Prophet Isaiah is talking about Lucifer and his demons (fallen angels) but not in that time or this time.
Isaiah 14:8-11 (NLT)
8 Even the trees of the forest—the cypress trees and the cedars of Lebanon—sing out this joyous song: ‘Since you have been cut down, no one will come now to cut us down!’
9 “In the place of the dead there is excitement over your arrival.
The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead stand up to see you.
10 With one voice they all cry out, ‘Now you are as weak as we are!
11 Your might and power were buried with you. The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased. Now maggots are your sheet, and worms your blanket.’
Unfortunately, we are still in a time when Lucifer fallen, that old Serpent, is bringing sorrow, fear, and bondage. However, his time is measured and soon to end. Look at what happens at the end of this age with the Second Coming of Christ.
Revelation 20:1-3 (KJV)
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
This will be a time (one thousand years) when there will be no spiritual beings in the earth to deceive the eternal (us) beings or the natural beings. Remember, there will be natural unsaved people in the earth after the Second Coming of Christ and Armageddon (review Revelation chapter nineteen).
