POWER FLOW
Monday – October 23, 2017

When we are called by God to lay hands upon another person the healing power (a work of God) in, upon, and with us is released. When others call for us to lay hands upon them such as the multitudes which came to Jesus or as in James 5:14 the faith of the potential recipient is essential. It seems to me according to Scripture that it is vital that all of it be God directed or by the request of the person who seeks relief. In this latter instance the faith of the potential recipient is the key issue. People request prayer for all sorts of reasons and with all sorts of expectations. Sometimes the attitude is “what can it hurt”, “let’s see what this guy/gal can do” rather than the attitude of the woman with the issue of blood.
Mark 5:28 (KJV)
28 For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Notice the certainty in her voice. She had no doubt that if she would but touch Him say nothing about having Him pray for her that the Power of God would make her whole. She did not just want to be healed but made whole. So, what happened?
Mark 5:34 (KJV)
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Let us review our primary text for this wonderful study of the Book of Hebrews and then jump into the Word of God with both feet.
Hebrews 6:1-3 (KJV)
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit.
Friday, I left off with our discussion of one of the “principles of the doctrine of Christ” the “laying on of hands”. I had discussed briefly on Friday that this is a principle that God uses in our lives. Because He has laid His hands upon us no enemy can stand before us as we walk by faith, in love, led of the Spirit. The laying on of hands was a common occurrence in the Old blood Covenant for a variety of reasons. For example, the priests of old would place a blessing upon a person who brought the appropriate offering. Today all who are saved and filled with the Spirit have the Blessing and so receive a double portion with the laying on of hands by one in authority, greater rank, or greater anointing. With the greater Blessing led of God comes increased responsibility otherwise He is dormant doing us nor those around us any good. God sees we are ready and expects us to step-up in the Kingdom of God. With the blessing there will be a prophetic Word. A prophetic Word from the Lord can give clarity as to His will for us and a target to shoot for or something to repent of and run from. Consider the following.
Genesis 48:14-16 (KJV)
14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
15 And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,
16 The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.
Carefully consider the following example concerning the laying on of hands. This has to do with the sacrifice for sin under the Old blood Covenant, see if you recognize Jesus.
Leviticus 1:1-7 (KJV)
1 And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
3 If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.
4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt offering; and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.
5 And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron’s sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
6 And he shall flay the burnt offering, and cut it into his pieces.
7 And the sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:
The person who sinned had to bring the very best, a male without blemish, for sacrifice. The sinner had to put his hand on the head of this perfect, precious animal, and he (the sinner not the priest) must kill the animal at the altar of sacrifice. The priests would then take the blood of atonement and sprinkle it about the altar and the door of the tent of meeting. The sinner cuts the animal into pieces and places them on the alter. The priests then burn the pieces of the sacrifice with fire. The male unblemished animal is a type and shadow of Christ. The sinner is us. Our sin brought about the sacrifice of Jesus. But thanks, be unto God our sin is gone forever by the cleansing Blood (New Blood Covenant) and the fire of the Holy Ghost. So, you see in the spirit realm each of us has laid our hands and our sins upon Him and for the joy set before Him He endured the Cross for each of us.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
