SANCTIFIED BRETHREN
Thursday – Aug 3, 2017

Greetings and welcome back to our Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews presented by Dr. Wood and The Three Minute Word publication. Adam and Eve are back with the beginning of another day, another day to do the work of God in the earth. Brother and sister, things are turning in America, light is taking the place of darkness, and righteousness is taking the place of unrighteousness on every side. There is mass confusion and wicked absurdities pushed forward as serious considerations. None of the confusion or absurd observations are of God. A new and wonderful day is at hand. Now let’s get to our Bible text.
Hebrews 2:10-13 (KJV)
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
One who is sanctified is considered holy as He is holy, they are to be considered blameless or without blame. You and I brother and sister are the sanctified and Jesus our brother is the One who sanctifies (sanctifieth). Furthermore, our text tells us that the sanctifier (Jesus) and the sanctified (us) are one. Whoa, what a deal! This is basically a description of the peace with and of God. The peace of God is the spiritual knowledge and reality of being one with God. How much I function as one with God depends on where my faith lies on the continuum of being led of the Spirit of God on one end or being led of my flesh on the other end. When Peter walked on the water to Jesus he started out high on the Spirit led end of this continuum with regard to his faith in the Word of Jesus. However, when his flesh saw the waves boisterous his faith in the waves predominated.
John 17:21 (KJV)
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Jesus made the way for us to be one with Him and one with the Father. Will we operate in that reality or will we place our faith in the natural things we can see thereby turning aside to serve another god? The Savior and the saved are one and one with the Father. Jesus does not shrink away from being known as and called our brother. This is all possible because of The Blood Covenant, even demanded by that Covenant. Jesus is the Mediator of this Covenant, He is the middle man that stands between us and God the Father.
Hebrews 8:6 (KJV)
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the ones who walked between the divided animal pieces (Genesis 15) when innocent surrogate animal blood was spilled. We can think of that innocent surrogate blood of those animals as a place holder until The Lamb of God could come. They were there is hear the terms of the Covenant between Abram (representing Jew and Gentile alike) and God. This Mediator (Jesus) through the Holy Spirit (Eternal Spirit) would come when the time was right to spill innocent blood for mankind as a man and for God as God in the flesh, Immanuel, God with us. The very next verse in our text is a quote from Psalm 22:22. Interestingly twenty-two is the number of light. The light is the Word of God, and the Psalms is the nineteenth Book of the Old Testament and you will recall that is the number of faith. In order to get out of Hell Jesus needed unwavering faith in the light, the Word of God. He spoke what God the Father had said about not leaving Him (Jesus) in Hell and that testimony coupled with His own innocent Blood demanded release and provided payment for eternity for our sin. Jesus declares the name of the Father in the midst of the congregation. The innocence and the praise (declaring the terms of the Covenant) of Jesus enabled the Father to legally do all of the covenant.
Hebrews 2:12 (KJV)
12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
Whatever the Father was willing to do for Jesus He had to be willing to do for us. Jesus was fully restored and so was mankind in Christ Jesus, one with the Spirit, the Son, and the Father forever.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
