SCOFFERS WILL CEASE

Greetings dear and precious children of God and welcome back to this wonderful Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. Can you believe it, we are charging into November and a new year looms ahead. Have we redeemed (made the best use of) our time in 2022?
Ephesians 5:15-19 (TLB)
15 So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don’t be fools; be wise:
16 make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good. (Bold added)
17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to.
18 Don’t drink too much wine, for many evils lie along that path; be filled instead with the Holy Spirit and controlled by him.
19 Talk with each other much about the Lord, quoting psalms and hymns and singing sacred songs, making music in your hearts to the Lord.
The phrase “make the most of every opportunity” in verse 16 is “redeeming the time” in the King James Version. Like it or not, although we are eternal creations from conception, our time in the earth and work for the Kingdom of God in the earth has a finite time period (a start and a finish). What are we, each one of us, doing with that time? Before we move forward, please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. Thank you for sharing. Those who share have a vital role in this Ministry and in the Kingdom of God. The featured picture of Donna and me is from May 25, 2019. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 29:19-24 (TLB)
19 The meek will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord, and the poor shall exult in the Holy One of Israel.
20 Bullies will vanish and scoffers will cease, and all those plotting evil will be killed—
21 the violent man who fights at the drop of a hat, the man who waits in hiding to beat up the judge who sentenced him, and the men who use any excuse to be unfair.
22 That is why the Lord who redeemed Abraham says: “My people will no longer pale with fear or be ashamed.
23 For when they see the surging birth rate and the expanding economy, then they will fear and rejoice in my name; they will praise the Holy One of Israel and stand in awe of him.
24 Those in error will believe the truth, and complainers will be willing to be taught!
The Lord has just finished talking about an awful time of judgment concerning a disobedient Israel and then its release from those who brought the devastation. Unfortunately, as we look at our text, we see this baffling cycling of righteousness and unrighteousness. In the good times it is all too easy to slip into complacency and have a sense that we have done this, becoming prideful all the while forgetting and opposing God. We oppose God by going our own way rather than consulting with our God. We are so blessed that our God is supernaturally patient and merciful. The Lord is bringing about the vanishing of the bullies, scoffers, the violent, those plotting evil, and the fraudulent will disappear from the face of the earth. This will only be true in fullness when all evil and the curse are dealt with, however, today you and I do not have to caught in the web of any of these people. We have the Holy Spirit, holy angels, divine discernment and protection. As I end for today, this week, lets look at the final two verses of this chapter.
Isaiah 29:23-24 (AMP)
23 For when he sees his children [walking in the way of piety and virtue], the work of My hands in his midst, they will revere My name; they will revere the Holy One of Jacob and reverently fear the God of Israel.
24 Those who err in spirit will come to understanding, and those who murmur [discontentedly] will accept instruction.
This is the mercy of the Lord on full display. Think about the order in the preceding verses. By faith we are to revere the Holy One bringing forth, being a conduit for the good things of God. The Lord speaking through His Prophet goes on to say that in that day those walking in error will come to a knowledge of the Truth, and even the murmurer will humble themselves for instruction. Oh, that we could, would be this way every day. How long will it be before those spoken of here will lapse into disobedience? Generally, within one to two generations. Look at America today. Notice the very first verse of the next chapter.
Isaiah 30:1 (AMP)
1 WOE TO the rebellious children, says the Lord, who take counsel and carry out a plan, but not Mine, and who make a league and pour out a drink offering, but not of My Spirit, thus adding sin to sin;
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
