SON OF DUST

Greetings dear ones in the name of Jesus Christ and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog focused Monday through Thursday on the Book of Isaiah. We certainly do appreciate the friends and partners of this Ministry. You are a blessing and encouragement. Having said that I must remind you and me that the Lord, our Savior is our primary Blessing and we encourage ourselves in Him. Our blessings and encouragements come through other peoples but originate with the Lord. Please take a moment to share this teaching as widely as possible expanding the reach of this Ministry with the good news. The featured picture today was taken at the Soon Coming King Prayer Garden in Kerrville Texas. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Of course, continue to read out loud.
Isaiah 14:3-7 (TLB)
3 In that wonderful day when the Lord gives his people rest from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains,
4 you will jeer at the king of Babylon and say, “You bully, you! At last you have what was coming to you!
5 For the Lord has crushed your wicked power and broken your evil rule.”
6 You persecuted my people with unceasing blows of rage and held the nations in your angry grip. You were unrestrained in tyranny.
7 But at last the whole earth is at rest and is quiet! All the world begins to sing!
There are those who perhaps understand the history of this region and time better than I. We can say this however, starting in chapter one God has been describing to His people how they have sinned and what the consequences are. He also tells them and us what the end will be for the nation who is the arm of God’s judgment. Along the way we have seen many Messianic Scriptures telling of the coming Messiah. Mixed in we have found in this chapter one description of the fall of Lucifer when sin was found in him. Verse three above is not just about Israel being freed from the clutches of ancient Babylon but the day when Jesus, the Messiah would free all peoples from spiritual Babylon. As we read to verse seven, we find what we know to be the time of the new earth and new heaven. Some might argue this is the time of the Millennial Reign of Christ in the earth, I would not draw my sword in that regard. The following verse addresses Lucifer directly, he is fallen, and his future is extraordinarily dismal and rightly so.
Isaiah 14:12 (TLB)
12 How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground—mighty though you were against the nations of the world.
Now let’s advance ahead to verse seventeen.
Isaiah 14:17 (TLB)
17 Can this be the one who destroyed the world and made it into a shambles, who demolished its greatest cities and had no mercy on his prisoners?”
You have no doubt recalled the vision that God gave Jeremiah concerning this time of the fall of Lucifer (Jeremiah 4:23-27). As I end for today, please take the time to read and meditate the following rather lengthy passage concerning Lucifer and his fall. Interestingly God calls His Prophet Isaiah the “son of dust”.
Ezekiel 28:12-19 (TLB)
12 “Son of dust, weep for the king of Tyre. Tell him, ’The Lord God says: You were the perfection of wisdom and beauty.
13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; your clothing was bejeweled with every precious stone—ruby, topaz, diamond, chrysolite, onyx, jasper, sapphire, carbuncle, and emerald—all in beautiful settings of finest gold. They were given to you on the day you were created.
14 I appointed you to be the anointed Guardian Angel. You had access to the holy mountain of God. You walked among the stones of fire.
15 “’You were perfect in all you did from the day you were created until that time when wrong was found in you.
16 Your great wealth filled you with internal turmoil, and you sinned. Therefore, I cast you out of the mountain of God like a common sinner. I destroyed you, O Guardian Angel, from the midst of the stones of fire.
17 Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. Therefore, I have cast you down to the ground and exposed you helpless before the curious gaze of kings.
18 You defiled your holiness with lust for gain; therefore, I brought forth fire from your own actions and let it burn you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all those watching you.
19 All who know you are appalled at your fate; you are an example of horror; you are destroyed forever.’ ”
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
