Greetings dear friends and partners and welcome back to our study of this wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment to share this teaching and all others from this Ministry. Thank you so much for sharing. The Lord is so good. Our picture today features the Seven Pillars of Society. These pillars may also be referred to as gates, mountains, or spheres of influence. You and me dear ones are to be dominating every one of these pillars. Is that happening? Righteousness, the ways of God are to permeate every one of them. There was a time when they did! What happened? Do you suppose wicked ways got into the Church? How many of you knew immediately I was talking about 2 Chronicles 7:14?
Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text in the wonderful Book of Isaiah continuing to read out loud.
Isaiah 50:4-9 (KJV)
4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
5 The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.
6 I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
7 For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
8 He is near that justifieth me; who will contend with me? let us stand together: who is mine adversary? let him come near to me.
9 Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.
Last week I left off talking to some extent about verse four for it is a life verse for me. If you missed that it would be well worth it to go back to read, study that teaching. It may seem that there are those among us who are gifted to know what to speak at the right time in the various seasons of our lives. I don’t think that is the case, the Lord wants all of His children to have the tongue of the learned. You can identify these people for their words have impact, their words don’t fall to the ground nor be the noise of Scriptures said to be good for this circumstance. Come on, let’s be led of the Spirit, let’s give Him our tongue. The Lord knows exactly what every person needs to hear to be lifted up. Consider the following.
1 Corinthians 14:3 (KJV)
3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
Perhaps your first thought was that you are not a Prophet nor do you have the gift of Prophecy. This word “prophesieth” can refer not just to foretelling but speaking under the inspiration of God the Holy Spirit. Let’s look at this verse in another translation.
1 Corinthians 14:3 (NLT)
3 But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.
The tongue of the learned is Scriptural, guided by the Holy Spirit. Notice back in verse four we are told that the learned “wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned”. The Lord does not make this person do this but they are excited hear more and use it to strengthen, encourage, and comfort people. The learned are accustomed, practiced, an expert at hearing the instruction of the Lord. Shouldn’t that be everyone of us?

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 (KJV)
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
