SPRINKLED AND WASHED
Friday – March 2, 2018

Welcome back to this faith building Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews. Faith is built when we receive the Word of God as the highest Truth and know it is for us. God is so very good. As we prepare to dive into this wonderful study let’s read our primary text out loud.
Hebrews 10:18-22 (KJV)
18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
Jesus the Lamb of God slain for us upon Calvary’s tree. Really slain for all peoples for all time to take away sin once for all. I talked about a pure heart, a heart with no hidden agenda yesterday that is full of confidence in what it has believed. As we were ending yesterday we left meditating upon the phrase: “having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” The word “hearts” here is the same word, kardia, that we saw and discussed earlier in this same verse. The area of our soul where we make conscious decisions about what to let in and what to keep out. Our text tells us that we are to draw near with a true heart with confidence in our faith, or in whom we have believed, having our hearts (kardia) sprinkled from an evil conscience. What is our heart sprinkled with? What we have seen at the Cross of Calvary was foretold, foreshadowed in the Old Covenant. Let us take a look at Moses.
Exodus 24:7-8 (KJV)
7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.
8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
Moses sprinkled the peoples with the blood of innocent animals so that they would know their sins were covered before God for the next year. However, they were always mindful, conscious of their sin, for they had to sacrifice an animal with each sin and then yearly on the Day of Atonement. Once we have repented of sin following salvation it is expunged forever, at salvation all prior sin is expunged forever. There may be sins that we walk out in life but before God they are no more and will not hinder us in the Kingdom of God. When I say we may be walking out a sin I am talking about things that perhaps included an abortion, a child from an unholy liaison, or a crime and jail time with a record. The good news is this, once you enter the Kingdom that is forgiven and will not block any of the benefits of the Kingdom from coming into your life. You and I are sprinkled with the Blood of Jesus confirming all of the covenant.
Notice in our secondary text from Exodus that Moses took the Book of the Covenant (first five Books) and read it to the people. He then tells them that the Lord will do all that is written in the Covenant however it is dependent upon their obedience to the very same Covenant. He then sprinkles the people with the blood of the innocent animals and declares that this blood is the blood of the covenant or the blood that confirms the covenant, the life-giving blood. He than again links the words of the Covenant and the blood. The Blood of Jesus is not only upon the Mercy Seat of Heaven confirming the Covenant but upon us, marking us as holy and in righteous standing with God. That Blood as well as the residing Holy Spirit is the signs the devils can see plainly. What they count on is that we do not have confidence in that Blood. We are in Christ Jesus so when the Father or when the devils look at us they see the marks of the Covenant in His hands, feet, and side, the Blood, and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Awake, arise, and triumph saints of the Living God and do the mighty works to which you are appointed.
Notice in our Exodus text the reference to the words of the covenant and in our Hebrew text the phrase “our bodies washed with pure water.” The water is the Word of God. The Word of God renews our minds if we commit to having our minds renewed eliminating the trash of the world. This water, Word of God, also plays a huge role in our hearts departing from an evil conscience. In addition, we know that the Word of God is medicine to all of our flesh. By faith the Word of God heals our minds, allows the Holy Spirit to quicken our dead spirit, and brings health and healing to our physical bodies. This all happens by the coupling of the Anointing with our faith, if one or both is missing no manifestation.
All of the Blood Covenant is the will of God for us, we do not need to ask Him for it, we decree it in the name of Jesus. What we might need to talk (pray) to Him about is how to go about optimizing our faith. I suspect we all know what to do but have other priorities, put another way, other gods, and have not done the necessary things. Recently a friend asked another friend if they were reading and studying a certain Bible Study they both receive and the response was no because they had so many other things (not Bible Study) to do. These other things are the cares of the world, distractions of the enemy, other gods. When the enemy has our attention, we get his results which is stealing, killing, and destroying. Let us keep our focus on Jesus, on the Blood Covenant, on the obligations and benefits available to all and live the abundant life that is promised therein.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
