Greetings dear and precious saints of the only living God. Welcome back to this very powerful, if received, believed, and put into action, Bible Study of the Book of John. As you are all too well aware COVID-19 is still with us and killing people at a very regular rate. The various governments across the United States and around the world are trying to deal with this pandemic on the natural level. The Church is responsible for the emergence of this pandemic and for its defeat. This plague and all crisis to follow must bow to the authority and Power of the Church. Unfortunately, much of the Church has no idea they walk in unmatchable authority and Power. Also, it appears they have no idea they can exercise this God given authority and Power to thwart the works of Satan and his demons. Repentance is step one on the road to victory.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Let’s forsake rebellion which is sin and be done with the leadership of Satan and his minions, repent, let’s find out who and Whose we are and get about the Father’s business, the business of the Kingdom. Yes, masks work, that is proven science, and yes, vaccinations work. Follow the law (Executive Orders), wear your mask, get the flu shot if you haven’t already, and when a perfected COVID-19 vaccination or other preventative is available get it also. Do it all in faith. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and read it aloud, yes, out loud.
John 18:22-27 (KJV)
22 And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?
23 Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me?
24 Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
27 Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
You will recall that Jesus had prophesied, told the Apostle Peter, just a couple of hours earlier that in spite of Peter’s bravado he would deny Him three times before the cock crewed twice.
Mark 14:30 (KJV)
30 And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
As this has unfolded in our text and the other gospels, we see the Word of our Lord, the Head of the Church, coming to pass. The Apostle Peter unfortunately chose pride and not humility when Jesus told him this would come to pass.
Mark 14:31 (KJV)
31 But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.
Peter thought he was stronger than he really was and he did not heed the Words of the Master. A better response would have been along the lines of repenting of pride and asking Jesus what he must do to stand against the tests of Satan.
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Peter opened the door wide open to the devil with his pride and sure enough he was devoured that night.
Proverbs 16:18 (KJV)
18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Are we walking clothed with humility or pride? Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
