THE CURSE LIKE THE BLESSING HAS A SPIRITUAL ROOT

Greetings dear saints of God and others. Welcome back to the teaching titled “The Curse Causeless”. Again, I will warn you that this may not be the most popular teaching this year, but I would recommend it to all. The curse is all around us. The world and much of the Church is up to their neck in the curse. The key is to remember that there are no physical manifestations in this physical world that do not have a spiritual root. Knowledge is the key to a successful spiritual life and subsequently a successful physical life. Now let’s review our anchor verse.
Proverbs 26:2 (KJV)
2 As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.
We see in this verse that the curse cannot come into our lives without a cause. The curse is all that steals, kills, and destroys in our lives. The curse originally came as the result of sin. When we don’t do things God’s way putting other words over Gods Words we have sinned, and the curse has a door to enter. The curse may also enter our lives by failure to invoke our Blood Covenant benefits. The curse is a spiritual perversion that brings physical destruction and death.
I left off last week beginning to discuss why God shortened the days of mankind after sin and the curse entered the earth. The following verse is just before the flood of Noah.
Genesis 6:3 (ESV)
3 Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”
We can see from this verse that God has significant issues with mankind. I will now look more closely at why the days of mankind were shortened. It is the same reason why access to the Tree of Life was removed.
Genesis 6:5 (ESV)
5 The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
This is confirmed in the following Scripture. These things are true for saint and sinner alike since the Garden to this day. This is not an “Old Testament” issue, but an issue with fallen man.
Jeremiah 17:9 (ESV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?
Again, in case we think this is all about those saints before Calvary, listen to Apostle Paul talk about himself. Any intent (motivation) contrary to God, any thoughts contrary to God are wicked and evil.
Romans 7:22-25 (KJV)
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Why do we repeatedly see the Apostles warning the “New Testament” saints to stay away from the “works of the flesh”? He is talking to Christians!
Galatians 5:19-21 (ESV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
TAKE HOME:
- There is a cause for any curse in our lives which in the body manifest as accelerated aging, various diseases, infirmities, with early death.
- The heart of saint and sinner alike is deceitful and desperately wicked.
- We must all be on guard not to bear the fruits of the flesh but instead bear the fruits of the spirit.
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
