THE GREATER THINGS – PART SEVEN
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to the Sunday Bible Study. Please take a moment and share these teachings to expand the reach of this Ministry but more importantly the reach of the Truth. God is good dear ones, let’s let people know and let them see His goodness in our lives. Compromise of the Word of God, ignoring the leadership of the Holy Spirit, or being carnally minded (focused on the things of this natural life) brings the curse into our lives but being spiritually minded (focused on Him) brings life and peace.
Before I move into the powerful teaching for today on the “The Greater Things” I want to remind us all that perhaps the most important election of our lifetimes is less than a month away. Let me just flat out say that the choice this time and for the last several decades has not been difficult for those who put the Bible in first place, making the Bible final authority for all questions. Let’s ask ourselves, “Am I a Christian?” Let’s also ask ourselves; “Do I believe the Bible?” We also must ask ourselves; “Is there a higher authority than the Bible?” The right answers are yes, yes, and no. If those are your answers the Biden/Harris ticket is not your choice pure and simple. The Democrat ticket, party platform, is antithetical (hostile) to the Bible.
As we shift our attention to the teaching titled “The Greater Things” for today let’s thoughtfully read (out loud) the following familiar Scripture. Sometimes a Scripture becomes so familiar that we race over it with an “yeah, yeah, I know that” when that Truth is really playing no role in our lives. Is that the case with this Scripture?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Do we really believe that all believers are to be doing the works of Jesus? Are we doing the works of Jesus? As a reminder, the following Scripture enumerates some of the works of Jesus. Are we, yes, you and me, doing these things? Why not? Short answer, unbelief!
Matthew 11:5 (KJV)
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Let us repent and move forward. Perhaps I have gotten the cart before the horse by having a series about the greater things when we are not even doing the things Jesus did in His earthly ministry. I know I don’t have the cart before the horse for this is by leadership of the Holy Spirit. God is good dear ones! Let us actively seek after the Lord to have a great hunger and thirst for Him. Can we truly say these Scriptures apply to us?
Matthew 5:6 (KJV)
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Do we truly hunger and thirst after Him, after righteousness, or are we going through our prayer, Bible, Church routine? Are there more signs and wonders in my life this year than last? What about the following Scripture?
John 6:35 (KJV)
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
On first glance it appears this is a one-time thing, that is to say, come to Him once and we are fixed for eternity. If you research the tense of the phrase “shall never hunger” it is actually aorist active which means that we are constantly hungry and constantly being satisfied. It is much like food in the natural. We can be hungry, sit down for a good meal and be satisfied but it is transient soon we are hungry again for more. So, it is in the spiritual as well. In this way we grow spiritually. If we do not grow, we are not going to do the works Jesus did and for sure not the greater works. I don’t know about you but I am tired of the same o same o. Let’s determine that we will move forward together diligently seeking the face of God making the Word of God the final arbitrator for every part of our lives.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here in two weeks. Next Sunday I will be publishing a Position Paper concerning Vaccinations.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name! Quit asking God to bless you, you are already blessed, you have the Blessing, give Him something to do by the words of your mouth. Once you know the will of God, decree the thing (Job 22:28, Isaiah 45:11, Mark 11:23). (The Blessing is the Holy Spirit) We have left God way to long with nothing to do in our lives.
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
