AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE GREATER THINGS – PART THIRTY-ONE
Yes, read the introduction again. Rejoice and again I say rejoice! Perhaps you don’t feel like rejoicing. Who is in charge of our emotions, our feelings? Our emotions are given of God and can be wonderful and or they can be a snare. Many thoughts come with attached emotions. We are in charge, full charge, of our soul which is our mind, our will, and our emotions. We and we alone are in charge of what we think about, we alone exercise our will, and we alone choose our emotions. We have the capacity to check our thoughts every six seconds. Are we doing that? Every thought has to be run through the Scripture filter. Dear brother and sister there is not ‘Church’ and then the rest of life, it is all one life. We do way too much compartmentalizing. We have all of our boxes that we open from time to time. This must not be, it is all one box, and that box is the Kingdom of God box. These are not the mutterings of this writer to fill space but has everything to do with your life and my life today and for eternity. Please take a moment right now to share this teaching with as many as possible to expand the reach of the Truth.
Now, let’s shift our attention back to the focus of this Sunday Bible teaching series. We are talking about the works Jesus did during His time in the earth, as a man Anointed of God, which we also are commanded to do and the greater works we are ordained to do as well. Are we Anointed sons (and daughters) in the earth? You are familiar with the following verse but we will review it and meditate it yet again.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
This is a command to all of the body of Christ, believers! Am I a believer, are you a believer? This is not addressed solely to Five-Fold Ministers, but to all believers. There is unnecessary controversy about what the greater works refers too. Many say it is simply that there are more of us ministering over longer periods of time and that is the greater works. Wrong! Let me ask a question. Did any of the works of Jesus transform any sphere of influence (pillar or mountain), bring change to any economic system, or transform any city? No. Why? He didn’t have authority to do that until sin, the curse was dealt with and all authority was taken from Satan (given him by Adam). He got authority (dominion) in the earth back. He immediately returned that dominion (authority) back to believers in Him to do the things He did and the greater things.
Matthew 28:18-20 (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
The word ‘power’ in verse eighteen is dominion or authority. The dominion given to Adam in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 1:26) is returned to those who believe on Jesus and with it the Blessing (Power of God) to back up the authority (dominion). Moments before His ascension, Jesus immediately gave us His name, His power of attorney, to take into all the earth. Do we really believe there is unlimited power, authority, in the name of Jesus? Do we utter it in faith, powered by love (agape), and led of the Spirit of God? Or, do we add it to the end of our prayers because that is what we were taught and that’s what everyone else does? Have we experienced prayer failure after prayer failure because we haven’t used the name of Jesus in Faith, powered by love, and led of the Spirit? Are we behaving like Jesus or following traditions and demonic teachings? What about this phrase in verse twenty? “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you”. Does that word observe mean to look at or to do? It means to do. Well, this brings us right back to the works that Jesus did in His earthly ministry and the greater things we are to do in addition. We are mandated to bring the will of God into the earth.
Matthew 6:10 (KJV)
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
The Kingdom of God was in the earth before the Day of Sin and Death in the Garden of Eden. Jesus has restored all things. Not only have we again been given the authority to bring the will of God, the Garden of Eden, the Kingdom of God into the earth but the Power as well. Everywhere God sends us we are mandated to make it a Garden of Eden.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday. Wow, our God is so good! Forgive us Lord for living so far beneath our calling.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
