THE GREATER THINGS – PART THIRTY-SIX

Greetings precious brothers and sisters and welcome back to our Sunday Bible Study concerning not only the works Jesus did but the greater works. We are commanded to be doing both.
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
Are we doing this? Am I a believer, are you? Will this come up at the Judgment Seat of Christ? Where are you or me hearing this? When and if we hear it, are we receiving it, proving it in the Scripture, believing it, and then putting it into action? If we ignore Scripture, the commands of God, are we finding it easy to relegate this to other people, the leadership in the Church or the traveling preacher. Inconveniently this Scripture says “He that believeth on me”. What about another witness?
Mark 16:15-20 (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
Oh no, verse seventeen again points out to us that all believers are to do these things. Notice in verse fifteen Jesus instructs those present and us to preach the gospel. Now, skip down to verse twenty and we are told they “preached everywhere” with the Lord “confirming the word with signs following”. Has God become a respecter of persons somewhere along the way or could it be we are not preaching the gospel? Dear children this is not a God problem. We cannot build faith in something we are not hearing. With these things in mind let’s examine the following passage.
Romans 10:13-17 (KJV)
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Would it be accurate to say that whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be healed (as well as other signs and wonders)? Of course, it is. We must have faith to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Can you imagine receiving from Him while not pleasing Him? If we are not hearing how can we have faith for that thing? We can’t, period. These things are not being taught and therefore we are not building faith for these things. This is disobedience. Meditate verse fifteen above, what a wonderfully beautiful verse. Are we preaching the “gospel of peace”, are we bringing “glad tidings of good things”? What about verse sixteen? What a sad verse, but this is us. We have not obeyed the gospel, believed the report of the Lord, and are not doing the works Jesus did nor the greater works.
True faith is the unwavering belief that the outcome seen in Scripture is the only possible and acceptable option. Lord willing, I will pick up right here next Sunday.
2 Chronicles 20:20b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Until our next publication, as a Bible Teacher and Prophetic Voice I speak this blessing over each and every one of you, receive it, believe it, and speak over yourself and your family by faith in Jesus name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (AMP)
24 The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you;
25 The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you;
26 The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually).
