THE KEY OF THE HOUSE OF DAVID

Greetings dear and precious children of our Father God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. Please take a moment and share this teaching by every available means available to you expanding our reach with the gospel. Thank you so much for sharing. As you will recall we are making our way through the Bible Book of Isaiah and we will pick up again today in the 22nd chapter. Continue to read out loud in order to achieve maximum benefit and built faith to another level.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Remember it is impossible to please God without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
And, it is our faith that overcomes the world.
1 John 5:3-4 (KJV)
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Did you notice that the coupling of love (agape) and faith (Galatians 5:6) are necessary to our victory of overcoming the world? It is not God that overcomes the world for us, it is our exercise of love and faith that overcomes the world. Let us heed the Words of Jesus.
Revelation 3:21 (KJV)
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
What about if you don’t overcome? What are we to overcome? Look back at 1 John 5:3-4 above. Now let’s continue with our study of Isaiah reading out loud.
Isaiah 22:19-25 (GW)
19 “I will remove you from your office and do away with your position.
20 When that day comes, I will call my servant Eliakim, son of Hilkiah.
21 I will dress him in your linen robe and fasten it with your belt. I will give him your authority, and he will be like a father to those who live in Jerusalem and to the nation of Judah.
22 I will place the key of the house of David around his neck. What he opens no one will shut. What he shuts no one will open.
23 I will fasten him firmly in place like a peg, and he will be a source of honor for his father’s household.
24 They will hang on him the whole weight of his father’s household, descendants and offspring and all the little utensils, from bowls to jars of every kind.”
25 The LORD of Armies declares, “On that day the peg which I firmly fastened in place will be removed. It will be cut off and will fall, and everything hanging on it will be destroyed.” The LORD has spoken.
As I noted yesterday the time of this Prophecy seems, at least in the preceding verses, to be referring to the time of Hezekiah and after. I arrived at that by looking at the names in verse twenty above in the Biographical Bible. However, it then seems to slip into more Messianic Prophecy. Let’s take a close look at verse 22, the number of Light, and then the following passages.
Isaiah 9:6 (KJV)
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Revelation 3:7-8 (KJV)
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
I will pick up here tomorrow but notice the key is laid “upon his shoulder”. We understand that Jesus is the Head of the Church but the shoulders are a part of the body. We have responsibility, we the Church, to rule and reign according to His direction.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
