THE KILLING OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY

Greetings dear and precious people of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. We will be continuing with our study in the Book of Isaiah as we enter Thanksgiving week. What a wonderful time of year. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means possible at your disposal. Thank you for sharing. Those of you who are not sharing, ask the Lord if He would have you to share. The featured picture today is John Fitzgerald Kennedys’ motorcade on that fateful day in Dallas Texas when the world stood still. This tragedy took place 57 years ago on November 22nd 1963. I still remember where I was when I first heard that a President had been murdered. Again, this serves as a reminder for us to pray for those in authority at every level across America. Not for their destruction but for their wisdom in righteousness to guide this Covenant nation.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
I do not believe the Lord is at all pleased when we pray for bad things concerning this leader or that because we disagree with their platform. Remember Jesus died for all and God loves all and it is His will that none perish. All have ample time and clarity of vision to choose salvation. Without salvation our home is Hell forever and that is too awful for anyone. When the wicked come to office it is because in one way or another, we the Church have allowed it, so rather than anger, repentance is the order of the day. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 30:29-33 (TLB)
29 But the people of God will sing a song of solemn joy, like songs in the night when holy feasts are held; his people will have gladness of heart, as when a flutist leads a pilgrim band to Jerusalem to the Mountain of the Lord, the Rock of Israel.
30 And the Lord shall cause his majestic voice to be heard and shall crush down his mighty arm upon his enemies with angry indignation and devouring flames, with tornados, terrible storms, and huge hailstones.
31 The voice of the Lord shall punish the Assyrians, who had been his rod of punishment.
32 And when the Lord smites them, his people will rejoice with music and song.
33 The funeral pyre has long been ready, prepared for Molech, the Assyrian god; it is piled high with wood. The breath of the Lord, like fire from a volcano, will set it all on fire.
As we review verse twenty-nine, we are reminded that this is a contrast with the plight of the wicked. A plight they choose. Dear ones, things don’t just happen, our lives are not “the luck of the draw” or brought about by any outside force. Wherever my life is today or yours, we created it with our thoughts, the words of our mouths, and our actions. I know it is really popular to blame other people or some mysterious unknown, unseen force but no it is us and us alone that stand responsible for the outcome of our stewardship. Notice in verse thirty how the Lord conducts business, it is with His voice. We are in His image and likeness so guess how you, how I, have come to where we are today, our voice. No, the bad things in our lives are not our “cross” to bear, it is the results of our thoughts, words, and actions, period. Is Jesus telling the Truth in the following quotes, Words in red?
Luke 6:44-46 (KJV)
44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
Jesus was not talking to heathen (evil man) and saints (good man), He is talking to those who declare the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob as theirs, today we would say Christians. Now, I know you may not believe there is anything evil in your heart. However, if there is any bad fruit (thorns and brambles) in our life we must reconsider. I for one say, search me oh Lord!
Jeremiah 17:9-10 (KJV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
