THE LORD HEALS HIS PEOPLE

Greetings dear and precious people of God and welcome back to The Three Minute Word blog. We will be continuing with our study in the Book of Isaiah as we enter Thanksgiving week. What a wonderful time of year. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means possible at your disposal. Thank you for sharing. Those of you who are not sharing, ask the Lord if He would have you to share. The featured picture today is off the Capitol building for the State of Massachusetts. This serves as a reminder for us to pray for those in authority at every level across America.
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
I do not believe the Lord is at all pleased when we pray for bad things concerning this leader or that because we disagree with their platform. Remember Jesus died for all and God loves all and it is His will that none perish. All have ample time and clarity of vision to chose salvation. Without salvation our home is Hell forever and that is too awful for anyone. When the wicked come to office it is because in one way or another, we the Church have allowed it, so rather than anger, repentance is the order of the day. Now, let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 30:26-29 (TLB)
26 The moon will be as bright as the sun, and the sunlight brighter than seven days! So it will be when the Lord begins to heal his people and to cure the wounds he gave them.
27 See, the Lord comes from afar, aflame with wrath, surrounded by thick rising smoke. His lips are filled with fury; his words consume like fire.
28 His wrath pours out like floods upon them all, to sweep them all away. He will sift out the proud nations and bridle them and lead them off to their doom.
29 But the people of God will sing a song of solemn joy, like songs in the night when holy feasts are held; his people will have gladness of heart, as when a flutist leads a pilgrim band to Jerusalem to the Mountain of the Lord, the Rock of Israel.
The passage above you will recall is what the Lord says it will be like when His people return to Him and He begins to heal their wounds. Then we see what the Lord looks like to His enemies, our enemies. How does the Lord fight these battles? With the Sword of His mouth, the Words of His mouth. The same way we are to fight ours, remember the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit.
Revelation 19:15 (KJV)
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Ephesians 6:17 (KJV)
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Bold added)
It is indeed a very serious thing to touch Gods’ Anointed, to come against Gods’ Covenant people. But notice the transition from verse twenty-eight to twenty-nine. Is it hard for any of us to decide which group we would rather be a part of? Obedience is the key dear ones, that law was established in the Garden of Eden and will be a law for eternity (review Genesis 2:17, Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 14-15).
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
