WHAT ABOUT THAT CAMEL AND THE EYE OF THE NEEDLE

Greetings dear saints of God and any other who are joining this study of “The Kingdom of God”. This is a wonderful, exciting study which challenges to be about the Father’s business and that all of our lives are one way or another connected to our Heavenly Father’s business. We do all as unto the Lord.
Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Remember this verse?
Acts 17:28 (ESV)
28 for “‘In him we live and move and have our being’; as even some of your own poets have said, “‘For we are indeed his offspring.’
Is there any mention in these verses of two separate lives? All that we do is as unto the Lord and there is not any time that we live, move, and have our being apart from the Lord. Once again let’s review our anchor text and then move forward.
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
As I was preparing these teachings (today and tomorrow) to remind us of the commands earlier in this same chapter.
Matthew 6:9-10 (ESV)
9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
So, what is the will of our Heavenly Father? It is for us to experience life on the earth as it is in Heaven. How is that achieved? Doing the will of the Father as the will of the Father is being done in Heaven. With that in mind, doing Matthew 6:33 is essential to our experiencing days of Heaven upon the earth.
The Lord also wanted me to make note of the Biblical Numerology involved in this preceding passage. Matthew is the first Book of the ”New Testament” and one is the number of unity, oneness with God. Six is the number of man. Nine has to do with Divine completeness. And ten has to do with law and responsibility. How might we summarize what this Bible Numerology is telling us? Unity with God bringing Divine completeness for man is accomplished by discharging our responsibilities doing the laws of the Kingdom. Isn’t the Word of God just so wonderful. We will now take a peek at the next mention of the Kingdom of God from the lips of the Master.
Luke 18:24-25 (ESV)
24 Jesus, seeing that he had become sad, said, “How difficult it is for those who have wealth to enter the kingdom of God!
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”
You probably recognize this as part of the discourse that occurred during the encounter with the “rich young ruler”. This man wanted eternal life but was it first place?
Luke 18:18 (ESV)
18 And a ruler asked him, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
As we know, or will see, he wanted this like his other possessions. He wanted to possess eternal life but did not want eternal life to possess him. This is not a teaching from Heaven against being rich on the earth but about our focus on the earth. After all, the medium of exchange on the earth is money. One way or another money is involved in every part of our lives, including having days of Heaven upon the earth. I will pick this up again tomorrow.
TAKE HOME:
- Unity with God bringing Divine completeness for man is accomplished by discharging our responsibilities doing the laws of the Kingdom.
- Days of Heaven upon the earth is for now, your life and my life now, not some distant time. The so called “Old Testament” saints had this available, it has always been available to those who worship (submit fully not dance around in Church) God.
- We don’t worship money we worship God the money will follow for it is part of the Lord knows we need these things (from our anchor text).
Lord willing, I will resume right here tomorrow. Remember, we love you, the Lord loves you, and there is nothing you can do about either one.
