THE LORD IS OUR EVERLASTING STRENGTH

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry, and followers of The Three Minute Word blog. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it. We will be continuing our study of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. This helps us to expand our reach with the Truth and in so doing you become a partner in obeying the command from the Head of the Church. The featured picture today is a recent picture of Donna and me. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text today from the Book of Isaiah. Remember, to continue to read out loud. Faith comes by hearing.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Neither silent reading nor reading out loud that is perfunctory builds faith. We cannot please God without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Do we want to build faith and please God or not? Let’s get serious saints!
Isaiah 26:1-5 (KJV)
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
As we move into verse four above, we see the command to “trust ye in the LORD for ever”. This is something we must do and precedes any manifestation of the supernatural. I think we can also see from the verse that this is not an on again off again deal. We are to trust consistently forever! We like to shout about Him being our everlasting strength but that only occurs when we trust Him, nothing doubting. Whenever we come before the Lord (figure of speech, we are always before the Lord, the Father, in Christ Jesus) we must ask ourselves, what is my part, and am I doing my part with a whole heart? Is the Lord our one and only option for strength or have we been considering other options? In order for faith to work, it must be exercised in love (agape), nothing doubting, believing we have received the desired thing even though it has not manifest in the natural. When we do, we shall have it. Look at the following familiar (I hope) passage.
Mark 11:22-24 (KJV)
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
Successful operation in the Kingdom of God starts with faith in God. Jesus goes on to describe what that looks like. The praying here (verse 24) is not begging, it is claiming a promise that Jesus has already paid for in His Sacrifice and Resurrection. See in verse 23, we must say, and say but one option with no doubt in our heart and it will come to pass. As we end for today and this week, take a moment and examine the following verse.
John 14:21 (KJV)
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Getting, closely guarding, and doing the commandments of God is the definition of loving (agape) God. When we do the commandments of God, the will of God, which is our expression of love, He will then express love back which is the manifestation of the thing believed for. We must pull the trigger for the power to be released.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here next week.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
