THE LORD JEHOVAH

Greetings dear and precious friends and partners of this Ministry, and followers of The Three Minute Word blog. Remember we love you and there is nothing you can do about it. We will be continuing our study of the wonderful Book of Isaiah. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you. This helps us to expand our reach with the Truth and in so doing you become a partner in obeying the command from the Head of the Church. The beautiful picture today was supplied by our good friend and man of God, Joe Getchell Jr. Thank you, Joe, for sharing this picture. Now let’s turn our attention to our primary Bible text today from the Book of Isaiah. Remember, to continue to read out loud. Faith comes by hearing.
Romans 10:17 (KJV)
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Neither silent reading nor reading out loud that is perfunctory builds faith. We cannot please God without faith.
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Do we want to build faith and please God or not? Let’s get serious saints!
Isaiah 26:1-5 (KJV)
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.
There is a concept that the Lord taught me relatively recently which is that once I have done my part with a whole heart, He will make up any difference completing the job. For example, if our peace (fruit of our spirit) is insufficient (immature) for a circumstance He will make up the difference. God does not just give us peace for example we have to do our part with a whole heart and then He makes up the difference. Let’s look at this idea a little closer. I know I have discussed this before and will have a series at some point driving this Bible concept home. Consider the following Bible passage.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Notice we have to resist anxiety, and continually express thanksgiving in order for the “peace of God” to kick in. Can you see how similar this is to our primary Bible text? Consider the Apostle Paul’s thorn in the flesh.
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 (KJV)
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
This thorn, whatever it was, came from Satan and not God. The Apostle Paul went to the Lord without doing His part. The Apostle Paul went directly to God to handle this thing but the Lord threw the thing right back into his court. We must do our part with a whole heart, obedience, exercise of authority according to Scripture and then, and only then, will the Grace (Power of God) flow into the situation.
Lord willing, I will pick up right here tomorrow.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
Receive the blessing in Jesus’ name!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG)
24 GOD bless you and keep you,
25 GOD smile on you and gift you,
26 GOD look you full in the face and make you prosper.
