THE MOST HOLY PLACE
Friday – January 5, 2018

Friday is descended upon us, the New Year is under way, and O what a year this is going to be! The heathen will continue to rage, the bright light of the Holy Spirit will continue to expose the righteous and the unrighteous. On the words of the Church the Holy Spirit’s work will be amplified in the Land as we return to the Covenant of our forefathers and go even beyond them. Trust God not the wild stories and what your eyes see, the Lord is mighty among us and we are on the final push to triumph with the greatest harvest of every type at hand sayeth the Lord of Hosts. Well, let’s get back to our Bible Study and the primary text from the wonderful Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 9:1-7 (KJV)
1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary.
3 And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all;
4 Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant;
5 And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly.
6 Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God.
7 But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people:
The Lord our God, the actual writer of Hebrews, through the human vessel (writer) has spoken at length about the old and the need of a new priesthood. God has spoken at length about the original physical tabernacle in the wilderness, later the Temple at Jerusalem, our bodies since Calvary, all of the same pattern. Most importantly we are now the Temple, the Tabernacle of God, in the image shown Moses on the Mount and shown us in these ancient Scriptures. I have been discussing this Tabernacle and the furniture and the use at the time and the prophetic and teaching message for us today. I talked about the courtyard and the Holy Place.
Our text has now moved into the Most Holy Place starting with Hebrews 9:3. We have already talked about the heavy veil between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place representing sinful flesh. The Levitical Priests entered the Holy Place daily to minister on behalf of themselves and the people but they were not in the presence of God. They changed the Shewbread daily, they dressed (added oil) the Candlesticks and made sure they were burning as prescribed by God, as well as tending the Alter of Incense and applying the blood of the daily sacrifice to the horns thereof. Only the High Priest was allowed in the presence of God in the Most Holy Place once a year on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).
In the courtyard is the Alter of Sacrifice (Bronze Altar) and it was before this altar that the unblemished innocent animal was sacrificed (killed with the shedding of blood) and was burned upon that altar. No sin is remitted (or atoned) without the shedding of blood. The animal was then burned indicating a complete cleansing of sinful flesh, the animal in the place of the sinner just as Jesus as the Lamb of God would die in our stead many years later. The fire represents the Holy Spirit, a consuming fire, in this case consuming sin as if it never existed.
This same fire today removes our sin and quickens our dead spirit man as we accept the saving Blood of Jesus shed for us at Calvary. The Blood of Jesus ratified the New Blood Covenant initiated with Abraham. Therefore, when we receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, are baptized into Him, we are cleansed and quickened. To be clear, what is cleansed and quickened is our spirit man who was dead and once again we became a living soul just as spoken of Adam in Genesis 2:7. It is our responsibility to renew our mind in the image and likeness of God, and it is our responsibility to speak the Word bringing health and longevity to our physical bodies and prosperity to every aspect of our lives to show the glory (goodness) of our God. This confirms the Covenant and it is our loudest testimony!
Now, back to the animal burned on the Bronze Altar. Coals from the burning were placed in the Golden Censer, a portable Altar of Incense if you will, and that along with incense was carried along with the Atoning blood into the Most Holy Place once yearly by the High Priest. In the Most Holy Place the incense was placed upon the hot coals from the Bronze Altar releasing a pleasant fragrance to fill the Most Holy Place and represented the prayers of repentance by the High Priest, the Levitical priests, and the people. Repentance, true repentance is always a very sweet fragrance in the nostrils of God.
Until our next publication, I speak blessing into your life right now, receive it in the name of Jesus, confess it, and walk it out with thanksgiving.
Numbers 6:24-26 (KJV)
24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:
25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:
26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
