AWAKE, ARISE, AND TRIUMPH

THE PLUMMET OF JUSTICE
Greetings dear and precious saints of God and welcome back to our Bible Study of the Bible Book of Isaiah. The Lord, our God is so very good. Please take a moment and share this teaching as widely as possible by every means available to you to widen the reach of the gospel (good news) which is that the Kingdom of God has come unto us. The picture of the beautiful stream pictured today; I believe we took a few years ago during an outing. The Church is in the dark ages and simultaneously at the cusp of dawn (darkest just before the dawn), the greatest revival, awakening, ever experienced on this planet. Any of you preachers or teachers ever felt like this?

3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
On a regular basis I see things posted on the internet by longtime Christians or said in my presence, and endorsed by other longtime Christians which they apparently believe as the Truth but is not the Truth according to the Bible. Not according to David but according to Scripture. Perhaps according to sister so and so or Reverend so and so but where are the verses? Sometimes these are people that I know have heard the Truth repeatedly over the years and yet wallow around in the traditions of men. Jesus said we would know them (others including ourselves) by their fruit (Matthew 7:16, 20). What are the trees planted inside of me, inside of you, producing. These trees came from seeds we or others sowed into us, words we believed. Are we walking in the Blessing or the curse? Some months ago, the Lord gave me a teaching concerning the body of Christ titled “The Playground, Social, Teaching, and Work of the Church”. We have the playground down, the social down, even a good deal of the teaching down but there is a very serious disconnect between the teaching and the implementation. It seems that what many learned on first entering the Kingdom of God is carried along whether it be Scriptural or not. This must change! The Father is waiting, Jesus is waiting, the Holy Spirit is waiting, the holy Angels are waiting, the lost are waiting, even all of creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Now let’s focus our attention on today’s primary Bible text from the Book of Isaiah and continue reading out loud.
Isaiah 28:16-19 (TLB)
16 But the Lord God says, “See, I am placing a Foundation Stone in Zion—a firm, tested, precious Cornerstone that is safe to build on. He who believes need never run away again.
17 I will take the line and plummet of justice to check the foundation wall you built; it looks so fine, but it is so weak a storm of hail will knock it down! The enemy will come like a flood and sweep it away, and you will be drowned.
18 I will cancel your agreement of compromise with Death and the devil, so when the terrible enemy floods in, you will be trampled into the ground.
19 Again and again that flood will come and carry you off, until at last the unmixed horror of the truth of my warnings will finally dawn on you.”
Praise the Lord for the “Foundation Stone” the “precious Cornerstone” who we now know is the Messiah, our Lord and our Savior, the only way to the Father to Heaven, to overcoming the world, the curse. Let’s look at this idea of the plumbline for a moment. It is a way of seeing if something is plumb or in alignment. In alignment with what? The Word of God! A plumbline has been brought and the modern Church is way out of alignment for the most part and we don’t even know it. The density of deception is astonishing. Let’s look at a few other passages concerning the plumbline. The plumbline is always there by the way but our Lord is longsuffering.
Amos 6:1 (KJV)
1 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!
Their trust was in Samaria not the Lord therefore judgment, the curse, bondage is at the door. Read on.
Amos 7:7-9 (KJV)
7 Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
8 And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
Don’t you think we should all redouble our efforts to align with the Word of God just as it is written? Look at what the Lord had Jeremiah to write for our learning.
Jeremiah 17:5-6 (KJV)
5 Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.
6 For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.
Tomorrow is Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) but I will return Wednesday to our study of Isaiah.
2 Chronicles 20:20 b (KJV)
20 … Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
