THE RIGHT HAND OF MAJESTY

I trust that all had a wonderful Christmas celebration yesterday and your heart is filled with joy and thanksgiving for our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior, the Christ. The featured picture is of my dad and I near Christmas 1955 at our home in Readfield Corner, Maine. Where does the time go? Some of you can identify with this picture, others of you are perhaps that dad or mom hugging one of your precious ones or maybe you are even that boy or girl being hugged. In any event these are precious times and they pass too quickly and perhaps without our recognizing their significance or value. Now, let’s get back to our wonderful Bible Study from the Book of Hebrews.
Hebrews 8:1-5 (KJV)
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
Recall how this Book of Hebrews from the very beginning has been teaching us the superiority of the Son compared to all other persons or beings that have had a role in the plan of God. Jesus was The Word before the womb of Mary, Jesus was God before the womb of Mary, and He laid that (those things that defined Him as God and became as other men) aside to redeem us back to God, to Jehovah, the One we call Father today. When Jesus’ work was done at Calvary and beyond in that He destroyed the works of the devil He was restored as God, to the right hand of Majesty on High. The writer of this wonderful Book is bringing all of that to our remembrance.
Our text tells us that Jesus, our High Priest “is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;” There is no record of anyone, not even an Archangel like Gabriel or Michael, not even Moses or any of the Old Testament or New Testament Patriarchs (or Matriarch) sitting at the right hand of God, the Father, Jehovah. However, dear brother and sister Jesus is not alone on the Throne of Majesty on High! No, no, no, you and I are seated there with and in Him!
Ephesians 2:5-6 (KJV)
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
No one except The Son, and the sons and daughters of God, the children of God are entitled to sit in His presence. He is our Daddy (Abba), thank you Jesus. If you are a child of God do not be afraid to call Him Daddy, I believe He enjoys that and His chest puffs out as do ours when our earthly children affectionately call us daddy or mommy. The significance of being on the right hand has to do with being an instrument of the power of God. When we say that a certain person is another’s right hand man (or woman) it is understood that talking to them is like talking to the person they serve. When people talk to you and me it should be like talking to the Father. Remember the words of Jesus which command us to do the things He did and even greater things.
John 14:9 (KJV)
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
John 14:12 (KJV)
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
When will we cast off the chains of a common worldly life and walk in the supernatural life that is ours? When will we understand that we are one with God and that our reality is His reality. Our faith in Him, our faith in His Word will make our reality the same as His. If a particular circumstance can’t get to Him, it cannot get to us. The reason it gets to us is that we have more faith in what we can see, the natural, than what we cannot see. The unseen (with our physical eyes) spiritual realm is by far the more real and powerful realm. We must have Heavens view of the things of this earth and this world. We have dominion (authority) through the sacrifice of Christ and our position in Him and His Power of Attorney given us. We also have the Holy Spirit and Power to backup this authority according to the will of God.
